Complete nightmare! We had paid for three nights in advance but when arriving we were told that we should stay in another apartment across the city. After some protests he admitted this was a private apartment and not part of the hotel. We refused saying we had booked and paid to stay at the hotel- the manager then put us...

My husband booked this hotel through agoda.com and didn't see these reviews. If we had, we would have never stayed here. Instead of giving a narrative, I kept a list of everything while we were there. - no microwave - bed was slanted and I almost fell out several times during the night - water faucets (kitchen and bath) have...

Do not book this apartment. On arriving the manager tried to send us to another property which was odd as we had booked and paid for a two bedroom apartment weeks ahead through Travelmanagers. He said there was no two bedroom apartment available and we were there at 1pm check in time.(he had given it to someone else) He swore...

I was in this apartment for two days before I decided to move out. My visit got off the wrong foot when I reached the building after much looking (the cabbie didn't know abou the place, and it's not marked at all) and the door was locked. There was a number to call on, but I didn't have my phone...

We booked the 3 bed apartment about a month in advance through late rooms, when we arrived at 1pm (the earliest we were told we could check in)they had given our room to someone else! It took the guy behind the desk around 40 minutes to actually tell us this as he just kept saying he had to wait for...

We booked through Booking.com and the pictures are definitely deceiving. The price was reasonable for the area, but at GBP135.00 a night, we definitely did not expect a hovel. A Fawlty Towers reality. When confronted the Manager, a Mr Bass, heavily swore at us. There appears to be definitely something not right, if not illegal, about the whole set-up. It...

The only positive is the Kensington location. Nothing else. Nullify your expectations! If you book and intend to stay: Check out the apartment on arrival before making payment. Make sure it is acceptable to your standards before commiting. I made the mistake of paying before we got to our room. The pictures of the place on another website were quite...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
