We stayed at the Burns Hotel on a recent trip with our grandchildren, ages 6, 8, & 10. We had to get two rooms, which is common for the UK, since they think a "family" is only four people. The Burns has a GREAT location in Kensington and is a very short walk from the Earls Court Underground or "Tube"...

I stayed at this hotel during the Wimbledon championships. It's very close to Earl's Court tube, and close to many shops/restaurants/pubs etc. The room was a little on the small side and did not have any air conditioning making it very warm during the time I was there. I also found the wi-fi a little temperamental. Overall it's an average...

Booked this hotel for a 2 night stay whilst in London in June. We chose this hotel for easy access to Wimbeldon, which it proved to be. Our room was average size, although a rather small double bed. Creaky floors was rather annoying. The bathroom was a good size and clean. Breakfast service very quick, only complaint was the toaster...

Stayed 3 nights, nice but small room (although one of the biggest) Free WiFi good, Continental Breakfast with good variety and plenty of it. Staff looked after bags as early check in not an option. Safe in room available at a cost which is a first in many years. Anyway it did not work so it was academic. Alternative was...

Fine, good value, staff all friendly, easy reach of the tube an three good pubs within 100 metres, Tube 150 metres and plenty of various restaurants in walking distance. For the location it represents good value in a high value city, that can be over expensive!

This was not our first trip to London but first time at the Burns Hotel. We have stayed at quite a few hotels near Gloucester Rd or Earl's Court tube stations over the years, and we chose the Burns Hotel for its location near the Piccadilly line to come in from Heathrow AND the fact the hotel offers rooms with...

Recently had a 2 night stay at The Burns Hotel whilst having a family trip to London. I think the price of the rooms are expensive at £165 per night for a twin/double room but then it is London. I should add that it includes breakfast. The rooms are small but then what do you do in a London hotel...

This wonderful hotel has good staff, clean and comfy beds, and atmosphere!! This was our second stay here and we will be back. The hotel is across from a neighborhood park, and is only about a block from the Earl's Court Underground station. There is a small bar, restaurant and outside sitting area. There is WiFi in the hotel and...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
