I stayed here for two nights during a casual visit to London. My reasonably compact double room was well laid out and quite adequate for me as I was generally out and about. The styling was tasteful enough. My room was on the third floor near the end of a hallway and facing west and I had no issues with...

My fiancé and I came to London over the winter holiday and stated here for 6 nights. For the cost, especially if you book ahead of time, is hard to beat for the London area. The location is excellent, only a few minutes walk from the Gloucster Road underground station. The rooms are incredibly small (as in we had difficulty...

Within easy walk to underground station and museums. The room was very small and you have to move sideways along the bottom of the bed avoiding the tv on the wall to access the other side of the bed or climb over the bed and your partner. The sloping sideboard (put a drink on it, turned round and its slid...

Room only - no breakfast. Room lovely - small but very well presented. Nice bathroom - with a full size bath. I found the bed simple too hard for comfort. They popped a mattress topper on for subsequent nights - but the beds are VERY firm. Very helpful professional staff with easy check in and check out. Lovely neighbourhood with...

This is a good three star hotel, although it has four stars. The rooms are very small and you have to move sideways along your bed to the bathroom and sideways along the window. There is no AC which could cause problems in the summer like in many hotels in the UK. There is no heating in the bathroom which...

Property is a lovely old building in a quiet location close to lots of museums & The Royal Albert Hall. It's also within easy walking distance of Gloucester Rd Tube Station. We found the room to be clean & spacious with nice decor. The public areas were also well presented and displayed lots of character from years gone by. We...

this is our second visit to this hotel and on both occasions we cannot fault it. On both visits we were going to the Royal Albert Hall which is about a 10 min walk. Rooms are quite large and service was very good, good situation close to museums and Knightsbridge.

One of the worst Grange Hotels I have stayed in. Tatty around the edges. No room drinking water bottles (very poor for an allegedly 4 star hotel). No air conditioning (must be nightmare in Summer. Pillows pointless. TV cannot be viewed fromBed. Carpet stains, damp stains, bathrooms tiny and towels just stacked on top of each other

We arrived for a two night stay on Tuesday, I was with my mother and her best friend who are in their 80's. We were met at the front door by a lovely and friendly young man who took our cases and directed us to the reception. Check in was no problem and then we were shown to our room...

I have never before stayed in a basement. This was a bit of a shock dark but clean. The hotel is a splendid georgian building but it is tired in places and very few staff speak good english properly. This does create problems when ordering breakfast. Our sockets fused and ringing reception to try and explain was a nightmare as they wanted...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
