Stayed at the Marriott Kensington. Location was ideal and easily walked to Buckingham Palace and the Embankment. Plenty of restaurants around for all tastes. On arrival was informed of all amenities and was was available. Staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. Room was on the 4th floor and very nice. Complimentary water, sweets and lemonade on arrival. Full English...

Odd location, although close to Earls Court station, a long way from the Museums. The hotel interior and rooms were very standard (you could have been anywhere). The key feature was the breakfast. This was served in a pleasant glass fronted room with a view over Cromwell road. There was a great selection of breakfast items, fruits, jams, breads and...

Stayed 8 nights and found it a great hotel and location. Large room was good for the sofa bed and an extra rollaway bed for my 2 teenagers. Staff was very friendly and helpful in directions, suggestions and anything else we needed. Breakfast had a good variety but like most Marriotts I stay in, didn't have a great breakfast selection....

Good location Easy to get to Lovely staff and the room did the job! Not bad for a last minute booking for £100! The bar was fab after a night out and we had some lovely cocktails. The hotel was clean and well kept

Modern interior with excellent staff and service. Short walk to the Underground station with lots of places to eat and drink. Mine was a business trip but I'll consider this hotel for a future couples trip.

Ignore the awful exterior and you have a reasonably good Marriott in a good location. Typical rooms (wifi was tricky - I gave up) and typically expensive but OK buffet breakfast (please clean omlette pans so vegetarians don't walk away!). Good large coffee with breakfsat - although the pastries tasted like they'd been flown in from mid-USA.. Friendly staff, a...

A modern hotel with excellent staff, in super location, within easy walking distance of museums, Harrods, Kensington Gardens. Although this Marriott is located on noisy busy street, our room was quiet & restful. Special appreciation to Olesa, on breakfast team, who not only gave us warm welcome each morning, but also remembered my name & room # after our first...

Stayed here 3 nights - Convenient central location to tube, good restaurant on site, market across the street. They were doing maintenance on the lifts , so they were a little slow. Rooms / bathrooms are clean... maybe a little dated for some of the other Marriott we've stayed at. Staff was very nice / helpful.

I am Platinum with Marriott so I am usually a big fan of Marriott hotels, however they have a major issue in London. Someone in the Marriott management has came up with a "brilliant" idea to stop all those pesky customers who want to use the electrical outlets which are often reserved for plug-in lights. They purposefully installed a non-standard...

Dear Mrk_globetrotter, Thank you for your feedback about your recent stay. I was disappointed to hear that you did not enjoy the electric layout of the room especially as valued Platinum Elite Member. The plugs you are referring to are special plugs for lamps only we hence would not have any adaptors for them as they also have a different...

So I'm attending a big charity dinner tonight and arrive at the hotel with plenty of time, relax and take my time getting ready and then realise no tie! Not an option to attend dinner without a tie and now too late to go and buy one. Spoke with the concierge and explained my predicament and he took off his...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
