What is your perception of a Queen size bed? Thought so, a bed wide enough for two adults to sleep comfortable in. Not so at this hotel, They have their own "standard" for what constitutes a queen size bed. Width: 135 (!!) cm Length: 190 cm. Yes if you are very petit and not ordinary size European, you might be...

Dear Mr/Mrs Signhild, Thank you very much for your review. We strongly think than business is more than bask yourself in success, that's why we believe that every single critic is an opportunity to learn and grow. Since I don't know your name I couldn't track your stay and find out the rooms that you have been staying in, I...

This hotel is very well presented and rooms are immaculate and spacious (we had an executive double with the promise of a bigger bed; which it was, but was 2 x beds pushed together). Perfect location for Kengsinton with some very nice bars and restaurants around the corner. Highlights being the food market on the high street (this is a...

I have returned to the Ken Close a number of times. I find the service efficient and reliable, the beds comfortable, and the en suites clean. I would like to enjoy the odd cocktail, but sadly, they are too expensive for me. Perhaps a happy hour could be considered.

Stayed 3 nights on own. Very helpful and pleasant staff. Nice big bar with comfy chairs. Efficient reception. Comfortable beds and clean room. Can't comment on food as didn't eat in but selection looks good. Will use again and with family. Always nice to come back at end of day to a decent room!

Surprised that I had to pay £100 deposit - never encountered this before. Asked about the spa and rudely told to watch the tv in our room. Deafening construction noises from the room below, tv not working and bath not cleaned - notified we were to be moved to different room the following day, and to pack our belongings. We...

At first I was excited to have found a hotel that fulfilled my three must haves - nearby tube, quiet air conditioning and midday checkout. It has a car park so we are able to leave the car (I had made sure there would be a space on arrival). So we enter the room. It is small, but that is...

Stopping in the area before, was excited to try this hotel. After arriving and being told we were a priority booking we still had to wait till nearly 4 o'clock to get our room. Rooms are basic and quite small. Been there, seen it, done it. Will not return to this hotel. One positive, breakfast was good.

The hotel is very well located near High St Kensington tube station, really 3 minutes walk. The rooms were correct. The bathrooms too small. Bathrooms with a bath tub and a very small sink. The ground floor was full of armchairs and sofas, quite comfortable and lively. The breakfast buffet was ok but nothing special. Some rooms have noise from...

I stayed here back in August and had a single room for one night stay which was fine!...my wife and I were attending a Charity concert at the Royal Albert Hall on Monday 21st November and the Kensington Close Hotel is very close to the RAH either by walking or a short taxi ride. We booked a standard double room....

When we arrived we were told we had been upgraded to a better room which was nice. The room was fine but not large so a bit concerned as to what size of room we were originally supposed to be given. I do agree with BrianG that to take a charge on a card "just in case" is a bit over...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
