You can't beat the location but the overall appearance of the hotel is tired. And despite my company paying over £300 for 2 nights in a double room, the use of the leisure facilities was chargeable as was car parking (£35 for 24 hours!). They did not even offer any complimentary bottled water in the rooms. And don't bother with...

My booking was made from Sydney and I believe it was a standard twin room, but the standard was very basic and uncomfortably small. I asked at Reception for an upgrade to Executive Club and then had absolutely no complaints. This gave me free Wi-Fi and access to the Gym and Pool areas. Reception and Concierge staff were always helpful,...

We were upgraded to an executive room which was adequately sized, although there was a bedside table on only one side of the bed and the wardrobe was short so I couldn't hang my dresses. Otherwise the room was very clean and comfortable, recently refurbished. There are some room renovations taking place so some noise during the day. Service in...

On business in London and this hotel was on on special offer. Best thing is the location v close to Kensington High Street. Staff professional and friendly but at 800+ rooms the experience lacks any personal touch I.e it is really a bed factory

As it's a big hotel, service is what you can expect, ie rather distant staff. The quality of rooms vary a lot, and a word of warning. Apparently, we were told, standard beds in the UK are only 1.90 making it difficult for any average Scandinavian man to fit without having his feet dangling outside the bed. And, apparently, we...

I have stayed here on business and this week for leisure. A good hotel with comfy and clean rooms. Disappointed wifi not included but otherwise well equipped rooms if quite small. Didn't have breakfast but lots of nearby coffee shops. Great location for Kensington high st.

I found this hotel on lastminute.com a good few years ago and since then I have returned on a yearly basis. The staff are so friendly and helpful and the breakfast is amazing! The rooms are ideal and fit for purpose. A stones throw from the tube you can't beat the location. We use it when we visit the Royal...

I was worried after I booked this room at the suggestion of my travel expert Kathi Sheridan. I booked an executive room and was given room 666! Yep! my friend was given 745! Let me clear the air, the rooms were fine. Yes they are smaller than what you may be accustomed but we were there for 9 nights and...

we had a lovely one night stay. We selected this hotel as it was close to the Royal Albert Hall, as we were going to see Strictly Proms. Room was a tad on the small size, maybe because the bed was massive. Breakfast was extra but well worth it. The staff were very polite and helpful. We would stay there...

I read reviews of the hotel before my trip here and i was a little hesitant of booking. However I booked the executive room for a week. The room was a like a regular size American room so it was comfortable for my wife and I. Executive room and above get free internet so that was great. And room service...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
