This was my first stay at The Cumberland ,I was celebrating 25 years in my career by attending The British Hairdessing Awards. My reservationist Tony ( with the superb beard ) was an absolute delight. He was very welcoming with a warm professional personality and is a real credit to the hotel . He kindly upgraded me and we had...

I stayed 2 nights at The Cumberland with my Friend. The rooms for this short time were fine, but I would choose another one for a longer stay. I has very little stroage room which was a little annoying becaus we couldn't put our things in a wardrobe...anyway it was fine for the weekend. We also had single beds which...

I was really looking forward to staying at this hotel, expecting it to be modern, plush and a little piece of luxury. On arriving, we were met by a huge queue and waited in excess of twenty minutes to check in, eventually reaching the desk at 1452. We were told that our room wasn't ready and that check in wasn't...

Booed here because of the location but will not return. We were meant to be on the 8th floor but as the room was not ready (an hour after the stated check in time) we were moved to the 3rd floor. We reserved a junior suite and it had several problems: heating only blowing cold air, faulty lights, burn marks...

Looking forward to another visit to this hotel but sadly we were very disappointed. Plus points Great central location Staff who tried hard to please Good food at the breakfast buffet Minus points Over-crowded with inadequate facilities eg lifts with long queues, queues fir breakfast etc. Exceptionally small double bedroom - standard double bed pushed up against a wall Noisy...

Very nice hotel. All staff encountered were friendly, polite and helpful. The room was spacious and had everything we needed in. The breakfast was brilliant, I particularly enjoyed the falafel with hummus, beans, cottage cheese ect and the huge fresh light croissants. The location was perfect. Practically opposite Hyde park and just off of Oxford street. Will defently use this...

The location is fantastic for any shop-aholics, the reception is very busy at most times. The lifts (5 of the 6 worked) are very busy, we had a room on the 8th floor and getting up and down can take a while due to everyone going to the other floors. We tried to check in at 3pm but our room...

You can't beat the location of the Cumberland Hotel if you're doing anything in central London. The hotel itself is fine--unlike some others, I didn't find the room "tired" or lacking anything. Everything worked fine: was great to have enough outlets and USB charging points. Bed was very comfortable and temperature control was easy and efficient. Have to give a...

I can't comment on the hotel as I didn't stay there, but I did pop into the Momentus bar before enduring the crowds at Winter Wonderland. I must say, the Bloody Marys are delicious. Very reasonably priced for a Central London hotel bar too. Will definitely go again when needing to venture to Oxford Street.

I checked in as a guest and the process was delightful. Please give Davide a raise or whatever as his service was beyond sterling. He was friendly, open minded, warm, understanding and efficient. It also helps as he speaks several languages as well. I'd only come to this hotel again if he still works here!! Zarith room 4090 merci muchos...

Staying in Marylebone

Neighbourhood Profile
Marylebone
Marylebone offers what so many London neighbourhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
