We only stayed one night and wished it could be longer. From check in to check out the staff were friendly and helpful. The choice of food for breakfast was great and all very good. Our room was clean and comfortable. The area around the hotel is good and its very close for V&A and the Natural History Museum. We...

So to Rydges hotel in Kensington for a two night break on a deal with travel zoo. Location is good just up from Gloucester road tube station, lots of local restaurants/good bus routes, and pubs by the dozen well almost and close to various museums. We had an executive room which was nice, hotel quiet enough, staff efficient, and breakfast...

Arrived before check in time great service from very friendly reception and checked us in even though we were early. Our room on 3rd floor was very clean and comfortable. Booked on Travelzoo deal so also had voucher for glass of wine which we went and enjoyed in the small but welcoming bar before we went out for the evening....

If you're looking for a mid-range hotel, well placed for getting around London then this just fits the bill! Very friendly welcome, excellent breakfast choice and immaculately clean and nicely decorated. It has it's own restaurant and there are plenty of restaurants plus tube station and bus routes on the doorstep. Wouldn't hesitate to book it next time we visit...

The staff are extremely friendly, the location is superb, the rooms are very nicely decorated and amenities were very adequate. We felt very welcome from the moment we arrived. They accommodated us to the extent possible because we had a toddler with us. My wife and I had the best vacation of our lives in London. The sunny weather didn't...

We went on a travelzoo deal. Booked a Queen room which was quite small. Would be difficult to swing a cat, but clean and a good central location. I'd go for a king room if you're planning on swinging a cat. Travelzoo offer a free glass of wine! But it did put hairs on your chest so beware. Restaurant staff...

We enjoyed a fantastic weekend staying in this well located, small and friendly hotel. On checking in, we were upgraded to a small suite, a very welcome surprise indeed. We had an issue with the fans in the room, this was dealt with swiftly by the very helpful reception staff. We enjoyed the breakfast in the hotel, plenty of hot...

Stayed for 1 night using a travelzoo voucher. B&B + glass of wine, excellent value. Staff were very friendly and helpful, giving advice on bus routes etc. Room was compact but fine for 1 night, very quiet, clean and comfortable, free wifi. Breakfast was outstanding, continental meat /cheese options, fresh fruit, yoghurts, pastries, juices, teas + coffee all regularly refreshed...

Stayed here for 1 night and would not return. Staff were rude and more interested in finishing their conversation before helping us. The room was dirty, the floor was stained and is in need of a decent clean. The safety fire doors were always left open, I watched a staff member go through them and not even care just left...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
