We stayed here for one night in early February 2012 having made the booking via the Novotel web site for a standard room at just over £100.00. I found this location extremely easy to drive to and my stay was made all the more enjoyable because car parking close by in the Minories Car Park E1 8LP was only £2.00...

A good location from which to base a London sightseeing weekend, or if you have an early meeting in Essex to get to from Fenchurch St Station (like I did). Very convenient location only a few metres from Tower Hill Tube station and similar distance to Fenchurch station. Staff was very well trained and friendly - this was the first...

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a long weekend in January. The hotel was clean and the rooms seemed newly refurbished (I've stayed at other Novotels and the pictures i saw online seemed to be the old style rooms). The first annoyance was the wifi and internet access. Free in the lobby on the iMacs provided there but not...

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to feedback to us and share your experiences on Tripadvisor. I was very happy to read that you found the hotel clean and enjoyed the newly refurbished bedroom which is not yet available in the rest of the UK. However I was disappointed to read about your experiences in the evening and...

I stayed for a night when in town on business. I was given one of the recently refurbished executive rooms. The check in staff were polite and efficient, the room was clean, nicely decorated and had all of the features that you would expect in a modern business room. Rather bizarrely the refurbished room has a clear glass wall between...

As other recent reviewers have said, this is a very good and affordable (for London at weekends) hotel in a great central location. I stayed here from Friday to Sunday recently with my two sons. Very good service at check-in (the staff member went to the trouble of looking for and re-activating my long-dormant Accor card), good Novotel room, excellent...

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
