Stayed here for a 2 night short break last week. Wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was as Novotel, I thought, was a very average brand. Wrong. Smart, modern hotel, great room, fab shower and comfortable bed. But most of all, what a great location. A very short walk from Tower Hill tube and almost at Tower... More

Thank you Annie for this fabulous review! I know that many people still don't realise that the Novotel brand has changed a lot, following the modern trend. I couldn't be happier to read that we have participated to your great short break in London. I'm looking forward to welcoming you again on another occasion! Thank you for your recommendation. Good location for either work in the Financial District or tourism. Very nice room with everything provided - instant coffee, tea bags, small fridge with liquid creamer, bottled water (all complimentary). Very neat shower with see thru glass walls which also "frosted" with a push of a button if you needed privacy. Cool parlor trick. Desk area with plenty of... More

Very warm in room and after a late arrival but sleeping with the window open was not a pleasant experience ( builders in adjacent building). My attempts the following day to get maintenance to attend to the aircon not working, drew an admission that the room did not have air-conditioning but a communal system which could not be turned down... Room was clean and well decorated with a beautiful bathroom. Great location being only a short walking distance from a number of tube stations so access to most tube lines. VERY impressed. I... The hotel was nothing special in any way shape or form although it states it was family friendly there was no evidence to back this up. This trip was for a family of 4 with 2 children aged 8 & 9 on their visit trip to London

Close to where I needed to be, clean and also friendly staff on hand. A little pricey, but we get what we pay for on most occasions, this is one. The breakfast bar was amazing and also the meal in Keepers at night a real treat. The shower screen, oh my! LOL

Food is not really good. There are great options nearby. Service is just correct. There are other better places to have a meal in this neighbourghood. Too loud. I asked fish and chips and it was the worst ever.

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
