It has great location, nice modern rooms and excellent location, so after my first stay I called it "Excellent Novotel" and gave full marks on trip advisor. Since then although it is the same hotel things started going down hill. During my second stay I was allocated a club...

Recently me and my wife visited the bar in Novotel tower bridge after an exhausting weekend of shopping and sightseeing. I myself was a little sceptical about going as in the past we have been greeted by miserable and tired looking staff, fortunately though I was pleasantly surprised at what was in store upon arrival. A lovely young Italian girl...

Great location as we needed to get the DLR that night. Really welcoming staff - smiling & happy which makes a big difference. Super fast check in/check out. Nice reception area. Lovely new room on the 5th floor with a great shower with the quirky opaque glass wall to the bedroom. Nice breakfast (cheaper when booked with room online. The...

Recently stayed at Novotel, on a positive note - great location, and nice check in staff. On a negative note, refurb work going on and noise was unbelievable..we did get a refurb room, however there was work going on next rooms and was very noisy. This is the 6th/7th floors. Rooms itself are I suppose contemporary, with handbasin in the...

This hotel is located within a 2 min walk from the Tower of London and a 5 min walk from the Tower Bridge. So the location is great! The personnel is very friendly and they help you wherever/whenever they can. The room, big enough and clean, the bathroom big enough and very clean. We suspect a recent renovation or else...

Nothing too fancy --- perfect for a quick business trip. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean and just spacious enough for one person without feeling cramped. It's also very close to Lloyd's and the insurance district. I would stay again next time I'm visiting London.

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
