We were looking for a relatively-economical (in London terms at least) hotel in South Kensington to facilitate our stay in that area of London to visit the V&A.
The DoubleTree was perfect for what we needed: excellent staff and a comfortable, very clean, quiet room...More
Stayed for three nights. The hotel room was terrific and every member of staff we came into contact was friendly and helpful. We had excellent service before arrival from Henri and this extended throughout our stay. The breakfast was very good with very attentive service...More

The room was not the nicest (we are from the United States), but I would definitely stay there again. It was comfortable, but small. They went out of their way to give us a great stay. Due to a cancelled flight, we had to stay...More
The scaffold entrance sets the tone for this very mediocre Hilton offering in the heart of one of the world's greatest cities. The front desk staff are surly and uninterested and the staff of the restaurant/bar like the breakfast buffet are lukewarm. From the doorman...More

With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming
and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.

Not at all!! Whether it was 34 degrees outside or 23 degrees my room temperature remained at 31 degrees for 3 nights! I have never had 3 such uncomfortable nights sleep! I complained and they just said it was working despite me saying 3 times it was unbearable!! I had to go outside to cool down! Such a shame cos I liked most other things about the hotel but will never return unless it's freezing outside!
