My husband carries diamond status with Hilton. He spends over 150 nights a year in their properties. We reserved two rooms at this hotel with 580,000 of his accumulated points. Upon arrival, we were given two handicapped accessible rooms which we did not request nor want. The bathrooms flooded with each shower. The light switches were hidden behind bureaus. We... More

We spent a night here as it is very handy for the Coliseum. Online check-in wasn't much use as there was no facility for choosing your room. We arrived at 3.15 to find no room ready. We were offered a drink and while we were having it, oddly, other folk seemed to be checking in and getting rooms! Once we... More

I stay in this hotel once or twice a year and I love its central location and the great views of some of the rooms overlooking Trafalgar Square. However I've given this 3 stars as for a central city hotel to have the gym out of action for so long (notwithstanding the offer to walk 15 mins down the road... More

A rather complicated check in process for a hilton member after already checking in on line. Having said that, the hotel has a fabulous location and most of the staff could not be more helpful. I was not impressed by the person who checked me in. I would stay here again but hope that my issues regarding the check in... More

Had a fantastic trip to London and stayed right in the heart at Trafalgar Square. This Hilton property is perfectly located to do all the tourist things. Walking distance to many attractions and transportation. Staff was very friendly (especially concierge and doorman). Room was surprisingly large with updated bathroom. I would HIGHLY recommend this property for a stay. Bonus room... More

Wonderful in service, location and luxury From the moment we walked in the door, every member of staff was polite, helpful and very eager to please. The room was lovely and quiet. Breakfast great. The location is unbelievable - literally looking over Nelson's column. Would go again.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Trafalgar Hilton and would definitely look to stay here again. The hotel is going through a period of renovation but this in no way spoilt our visit. We had breakfast at the hotel which was nice and plenty of options. The room was clean and tidy and the staff were... More

We enjoyed our visit to the roof top bar where you can easily watch life on the streets below. The main vantage point is Trafalgar Square and the National Gallery You can also see the London Eye. Big Ben and much more. Heaters, blankets and light available. We visited early evening so were able to select a prime spot to take... More

Belonging to the Hilton group I would have expected a bit more. Yes it´s not a full brand hotel, but that should not be an excuse. The rooms were not very spacious or special in any way. The hotel is some what of a boutique style, the staff is friendly, but the visit lacked something, especially for the price. The... More

Management response:

Dear Niko, Thank you very much for your feedback. As you mentioned The Trafalgar Hotel is not a full brand Hilton hotel, however this shouldn't detract from our standard of services and products. I am sorry you found some aspects to be inferior. On a positive note I am pleased to inform you that we are undergoing a full refurbishment.... More

Friendly staff and helpful, but the hotel outdated. location very good right by a tube station and also a short walk to many of the attractions around London. If they spent some money on the hotel it could be something very special.

Staying in St. James's

Neighbourhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
