After reading the Booking .com reviews (which were all positive) I was apprehensive after reading the Trip Advisor ones (mostly negative). The Hotel is a great location yards from Earls Court Underground. Rooms are small and you you would not need to have a lot of luggage.(or be overweight!) I experienced the overbooked room/maintenance work scenario when at check in....

The worst hotel experience from the moment I stepped my foot into this "hotel". I was denied check in despite having booked a room through booking.com taking all necessary steps. The excuse was that some rooms were out of order and I had been relocated to a hotel near Heathrow Airport!! Of course I insisted staying at the hotel I...

This has been the worst experience I have ever had with a hotel. I booked the hotel well in advance (more than three months beforehand). I booked it for the location more than anything. When I arrived I was told my room was not available and I was to be moved "15 minutes away". No apologies or even concern from...

We booked this room due to the location (close to Hyde Park and the winter activities). Twice we received emails stating that there has been problems with the payment (two different cards from two completely different accounts?!). I was uneasy but we made our trip to London. Whilst walking past Buckingham Palace towards our hotel at around 1pm yesterday, my...

I am asking myself it 3 stars is too much or just enough... Our goal from the beginning was booking a hotel clean enough to sleep and take a bath after a long day of visiting and having an energising breakfast to start our day. The clean room, the breakfast and the fact that the receptionists were patient anough to...

This hotel will take your money and then try to put you in a different hotel 40 minutes away, do not stay here! Me and my partner booked a double room in this hotel weeks in advance for a birthday weekend. On the day, we even called to confirm our check-in time and everything seemed fine. However, on our arrival...

This hotel is not really a hotel, it's something you can describe as a place where someone placed a few beds and named it hotel. We stayed there for a night and we were lucky we had a lot to do and just slept there and left. The people that work there are very polite but the rooms are awful....

If you're looking for just a bed and a pretty good breakfast this is the place. Now, if you want a chair to sit down in this is not the place. To sit you have three choices; The bed the toilet or the floor. Two suitcases become an obstacle . Sidestepping around the bed is required. This makes New York...

I booked a double deluxe room at the London premier Kensington hotel through booking.com about a month before my visit to London. A visit that was a surprise for my partners birthday. I wanted something quaint and central so we could easily eat out at the restaurants nearby and go to the museums the day after our stay. On the...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
