Why anyone would want to stay in a central London hotel when they can experience proper London life just 20 minutes or so by train into the city. This hotel has everything, a proper buzzing pub on the ground floor, great food, refurbished rooms that are of a high standard, reasonable prices and staff who are on the ball. We had an issue with our TV which was resolved. Problems do arise, it’s how they’re dealt with is what matters. Highly recommended

We have just returned from a two night stay at Westow House in Crystal Palace. We are decidedly underwhelmed!! I booked the room in January and as a result of both a request at the time of booking, and a subsequent conversation, was given an assurance and a written promise that our room would be at the rear of the property where there is a great view of London. On arrival at the hotel we found that we had been placed in a room at the front of the property with a small window overlooked the road. Although the room was okay… It wasn’t the room we were expecting. This was the Coronation weekend and was supposedly a special break for myself and my husband. It was also not a cheap option either. In fact we had relatives who stayed in a similar accommodation type in Central London for less. We did challenge the Manager in charge about the room promise and to be fair he was apologetic, but said it wasn’t their policy to fulfil requests made by customers. I showed him the e-mail with the detail and he then offered a round of drinks on the house. We didn’t take him up on the offer as it wouldn’t have changed our feelings of disappointment. The room was okay, the bed was comfortable and to be fair the toiletries provided were nice. All of this was rather overshadowed by the quality of our sleep. On the first night there was so much road noise and punters arguing in the front garden of the property. spilling out onto the street. This was annoying but I suppose was to a certain extent out of the control of the staff and staying in a pub often comes with some degree of noise etc. That said nothing could prepare us for the following evening. There was a wedding party taking place at the venue ….. right in the room below us….. it was absolutely horrendous. Our whole room seemed to be vibrating with the sound and volume of the music. This continued at the same level until midnight. It was impossible to sleep and we both had headaches as a result. Why oh why would you put regular customers in a room so close to that noise?? I’m certain some wedding guests stayed too so why not put them in the closest rooms. Whenever we have stayed in similar places whereby there may be a noise issue we have always be informed prior to our stay. I would have expressed my views to staff at checkout but unfortunately the person who took our room card didn’t even give any eye contact let alone say thank you or hope your stay was okay. He was engaged in speaking with another member of staff and didn’t stop as he just took the card from my hand. In my view no respect or care for the customer experience. Sorry I would not choose this accommodation again.

The room was large and very nicely decorated. The location is good and we could not believe how reasonable the price was for such a room close to central London. Very good service and excellent breakfast. The bar downstairs gets very busy on the weekend.

We booked a table for 9 for a family get together. Second visit. Staff were very friendly and helpful and food came on time, together, and everyone said they enjoyed their meal. Great location and ambience. Highly recommend!

Was in the area for a family event and booked a room here. It was Six Nations so the bar was packed and loud but the rooms are tucked away with sound proofed doors so couldn’t hear a thing! Also with secure access so no worries about random bar guests stumbling past. The rooms have been refurbed recently and are lovely - plenty of sockets in sensible places, great bathroom, spotless and with a retro chic. Front of house staff supper helpful and the location is perfect. If there was one improvement, it would be to have a strong light near a mirror for makeup but otherwise all grand.

This is our go to hotel. Beautiful rooms, clean and cosy. Manager is a great guy. This is my second visit and love it Good and drinks amazing but bars very busy so if you want a table book well in advance. It’s in a great location close to all amenities

A wonderful stay at Westow House from beginning to end. Excellent communication prior to my visit to sort out an error with the booking.com site and answer some queries. The hotel is well placed to explore Crystal Palace Park and easily accessible via bus or train from the city. The standard double room I stayed in was well decorated with a lovely rain shower in the bathroom. The bed was extremely comfortable and there was surprisingly little noise despite being on a busy main road. There were a few snags due to the recent refurbishment but there was always excellent communication from the staff and nothing was too much trouble. The staff team and management were warm and welcoming throughout. I enjoyed a delicious cooked breakfast and dinner here during my stay. There was a wonderful atmosphere in the restaurant. Service was always attentive and efficient without being intrusive. I wish all the team well with their venture - thanks for a fabulous stay! Would not hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommended. 😊
