While you might not find reception to be the friendliest (though that might just be the American in me) this hotel is fantastic. The rooms are spacious and the provide you with a wide assortment of coffee, tea, cookies, and coco each day. Room service is provided by the pub next door and is reasonably priced and can be served...

If you are looking for a conveniently located hotel, you cannot go past Sanctuary House. Turn to your right as you go out the front doors and after a short walk to the end of the street, you will be at Westminster Abbey. If you walk the other way, it is just a block to St James Tube station. You...

A very friendly welcome and really good service throughout our stay. Comfortable and quiet room and a super bed. (English) Breakfast was well cooked and good ingredients. The situation is ideal for the Westminster sights - Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, River Thames and so forth. Reasonable price too.

Visited the bar restaurant for the first time as I heard about their selection of pies. The good was excellent and really nice atmosphere. This is a great location just a short walk from Westminster Cathedral and just off the tourist track. Free wifi. Recommend this place.

We have chosen the Sanctuary House Hotel because of the photos on its website and because of the reasonable prize. And we haven’t been disappointed. Everything looks even better than on the photos. The nice decorated rooms are very clean and have very comfortable beds. They are not big but you have everything you need. They serve breakfast in the...

Staying in Westminster

Neighbourhood Profile
Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
