I came in London for a seminar and the location of the hotel + the price that offered us during our stay were high valued. The staff was very kind. We checked in immediately, the room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast simple but delicious. I noticed that they keep the hotel and the breakfast room very clean. The...

I had a late evening meeting and a conference the following day. So, with a ten hour turnaround I needed a place to get my head down. I booked in advance and the Villa Kensington was the most reasonable price in the Gloucester Road area with half decent reviews. I booked via Agoda on Tripadvisor but felt later that I'd...

Dear Guest, thank you very much for taking the time to write this review. All fair comments I must say......You won't believe how big some of our Triple rooms are in comparison....Thanks again for staying with us. Best regards. Ferdinand. GM

The room was small & dirty. The bathroom was so small you couldn't sit on the loo, the wash basin was in the way. Also the Taps were falling off . I would not recommend staying here if you were in London for a special occasion. The Breakfast was cheap & nasty so I would recommend giving it a miss.

Dear Guest, I believe you are the same Gentleman who complained about the room being too small, received a discount and was moved to another room for the rest of the stay. You made no secret you were expecting a larger discount, which I thought was totally unjustified. (I agreed to the discount purely as a gesture of goodwill, not...

My sister and I took my mom on a surprise birthday trip to London and it was perfect. The Villa Kensington was a great choice for us. It is located in a lovely, quiet and safe side street off Cromwell Road, a few minutes' walk from Gloucester Rd tube station. Restaurants, shops, all within walking distance. We felt very safe...

This is a very good budget hotel. The hotel was very clean and the bathroom was good with abundant hot water. Continental breakfast was included. It is close to the tube and one station from some good museums and Royal Albert hall. The shopping areas are close by as well.

Due to unforeseen circumstances we had to make changes to our booking that were neither planned nor necessarily in favour of the The Villa Kensington. Ferdinand and his staff were nothing but gracious and understanding. Their willingness to help went beyond the call of duty and I am deeply grateful to them.

This was a lovely find! I love South Kensington, as the area is very convenient and centrally located with great public transportation. Surrounded by shops and restaurants, and beautiful streets and gardens. This hotel is perfect - nothing fancy, just nice and clean, and well-located. The rain-head shower was fantastic, and the room couldn't be quieter. I stayed with two...

It is a little, cosy hotel in a quiet and elegant area in Kensington, at 200 meters far from the tube station and few stops far from Westminster Abbey and the Parliament. I had a single room as I travelled alone, which was small, but enough for one person, with a comfortable bed. Bathroom was big, modern with a roomy...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
