This was my first trip to London and was not too sure about this hotel. It looked fine through reviews and their website. I walked in on day 1, it seemed smaller than online, but who cares, really? A quick check-in and on I go to my room, on the 4th floor, stepped into the elevators and was worried at... More

This hotel is situated around a 5 minute walk away from Holborn tube station, allowing for great transport links all around London. From the outside it doesn't look amazing, but upon entering it is obvious the reception and dining area have been recently refurbished. The reception staff were extremely helpful, ensuring we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay.... More

Been looking for a hotel we can return to each time we come to London. We visit at least once a year and have stayed in several different hotels but there's always something that makes us keep looking. It's either location is too far out, beds not comfy enough, room too hot/cold, breakfast not up to scratch or no decent... More

Not impressed at being told at 11.15 that the bar isn't serving even tho we are residents. Having been out for the evening thought we would return and have a drink in the hotel only to be refused. Could have gone elsewhere but thought it would be nice to finish the evening in the hotel . Big mistake.

Stayed here a few times. Great to see refurbished restaurant. Very reasonably priced. Simple, Honest food, friendly helpful staff. In a central position for theatres. 20 minutes walk to Euston. Why would I stay anywhere else!

I stay in this hotel from time to time as one of our clients has an account with them and they book me in here when I need an overnight. Very central location, good for Bloomsbury, Soho and the West End. The lobby and dining room (recently renovated) are nice. The corridors however are old fashioned and dated, as are... More

This place is actually doing everything right. If you're looking for a cheap hotel that's in a very convenient London location, you don't need luxury. Here you get a comfortable bed, a clean, warm room, fresh linen and a working TV and it feels safe and friendly. They have saved money by having single rooms, having showers that only just... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
At the Bedford Hotel, peace and quiet is our priority. With the elegant bustle of Bloomsbury on every side, that might sound like an impossible task. Covent Garden and the West End are just a short walk away, and the British Museum is on our doorstep. But at the Bedford, we can promise you a good night's sleep too. How do we do it? Well, many of the rooms overlook our picturesque private garden. The Bedford is small and intimate, offering a warm welcome with a personal touch. And it's a great place to relax with company too, with a charming guest lounge and laid back café occupying the ground floor. Meanwhile, the Bedford Garden restaurant serves home-made British specialities, with a modern twist, overlooking our secret garden. We're able to offer a little corner of traditional English tranquility, here, in a bustling, international city. It's made us a firm favourite with returning guests. ... more   less
