This is a delightful place to stay, very handy for the delights of Kensington and a short walk from many major attractions. The staff were without exception delightful nd helpful and made us feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble for them.

The staff were amazing! We arrived by car and the reception staff took our bags from the car and when we returned from parking the bags were in our room ready. Calling taxis, in the bar, there wasn’t anything they could have done better. Well done

Rooms are small but typical for European hotels. Staff were all very helpful. I found it quiet and didn't need the earplugs provided. Comfortable bed and pillows. Okay English breakfast. TV is a bit challenging to search programming. Hotel is a 10 minute walk to the V&A, or north to Kensington High Street where there are restaurants, shopping, and more...

We loved every minute of our trip! The hotel staff were lovely, the room was huge with everything we needed and Earls Court station was less than 5 minutes walking distance! One I would most definitely recommend! X

Having stayed here in May this year we decided to use the hotel again as we flew back into London from a trip to Poland. The welcome was again warm and our room was fine. Yes it was small but for a one-nighter it more than met the need. It is easy to grumble about room size I guess but...

This hotel is very good in some parts, not so good in others. On the positive side, the staff were really friendly and helpful. Check in was fast, breakfast was really busy, but they found somewhere for me to sit, and even let me know when they had replenished the buffet after it had run out of some items. On...

Convenient west London location close to Gloucester Road Tube. Room was cramped, but clean. Fine for a short stay, but I wouldn't want to stay a long time with lots of luggage. Special appreciation to the barman for recognising after 6 months. Service excellent with friendly staff.

The Mercure at Kensington is not particularly well positioned in that it is approximately equidistant between Gloucester Road and earls Court tube stations. A bus does run directly outside. Dear 709RobertL, Thank you for your feedback. The hotel is about 3 minutes walk from Earls Court station and about 7 minutes from Gloucester Road. The best: location, king size bed, the breakfast! The less: There should be the option for natural ventilation system. That would be less expensive for the hotel costs, more healthy for the guests and surely even more confortable

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
