What a great B&B! My husband and I love staying at historical lodgings, and this old bar was a perfect match for us. However, the vintage vibe did not continue into the bathroom - very clean and modern facilities in that area. While the building was cool and the room comfortable, the breakfast excellent too, the owner is the real...

A bit off-beat. It would be churlish to deny the Cable Street Inn all five stars for a couple of modern-day Dickensian quirks - quirks rather than complaints. We selected the Inn to avoid the anodyne corporate hotel experience and, although we suspect the Inn functions as well as Adriana the housekeeper is functioning on the day, we throughly enjoyed...

Sophisticated, beautifully furnished rooms in a converted ale house with en suite bathrooms. My partner & I had a short but great stay here and Julian was a charming & knowledgeable host. Super easy to get to to Bank station and around town. Good breakfast & lovely terrace. Highly recommended for a night or two of luxury.

I have already planned a return visit to the Cable Street Inn in August! The location was so convenient, a stones throw away from the overground & DLR stations. The owner made me feel totally at home and was really helpful in providing all the info I requested. My room was spacious, elegant and overlooked a pretty courtyard/ garden. The...

We absolutely loved our stay at the Cable Street Inn and Julian (owner) was charming and very knowledgable about the local area & it's history. Our room was beautiful and the bed is one of the most comfortable I've slept in (I even asked for the brand of mattress)!! Our en suite had a roll-top bath and separate rain shower....

Beautifully appointed rooms and breakfast/lounge area. Couldn't fault anything at all. Service great - owners and staff very responsive to queries. Would definitely stay there again when visiting London.

Cable Street Inn is set in a part of London many tourists never explore. The history of the East End is fascinating and is alive in the Inn. Be sure to save some time on your first morning to talk with Julian, the owner, about the history of the Inn, the Docks, the Cable Street Riot and St. George-in-the-East church...

I booked Cable Street Inn as part of a surprise birthday trip to London for my Husband. We were really keen to stay in Whitechapel and experience a Victorian/Georgian historical style weekend. From the moment we stepped through the door at Cable Street Inn we felt like we had stepped back in time. The building has been beautifully maintained with...

This place has the most character out of anywhere I've stayed in London. The rooms are beautiful, you hardly want to leave them! Julian is an excellent host, so kind and always does everything to accommodate us. There is breakfast included in the rate.

My wife and I stayed at the Cable Street Inn for two stays in November (separated by a trip west). The hotel is built into an old tavern (public house?) with three rooms. We stayed in Room 1 which had a nice view out the back of the building into a park with a church not too far away. The...

Staying in Whitechapel

Neighbourhood Profile
Whether you're here for its dynamic street life, world class galleries or famed curry houses, you're bound to be wowed by the uniquely cosmopolitan flavor of Whitechapel. Long gone are the days when Jack the Ripper stalked its streets. And despite his mysterious legacy bringing throngs of curiosity driven tour groups to its back alleys and otherwise serene garden squares, these days you're more likely to catch a cutting edge fashionista scurrying through its age old lanes than criminals of any sort.
