My partner and I stayed for 2 nights as a base for a quiet wedding for 2 and 60th birthday... and wished we could have stayed longer. The Inn is beautifully restored, rooms very comfy with good beds and linen....The room 1 bathroom is fabulous and the roof terrace a lovely bonus....breakfast was more than adequate, 2 mins from the...

excellent - i stayed in Room 1, a great room m with a splendid bathroom. Very comfortable bed, interestingly furnished, and the wifi was good, Julian was very amiable when I checked in and left. Continental breakfast was good, with a good range of different things and more than ample (although I was first in !) . Surprisingly quiet and...

My Husband and I recently arrived home after a visit to London. We were very fortunate to have chosen the Cable Street Inn as our base. The Inn itself is full of character and history. Art and artifacts abound. Our room had a wonderful Juliette balcony looking over the garden and park to St. George in the East church, sitting...

I stayed here for work and didn't know what to expect. It was a revelation, beautiful design great hospitality and lovely lovely comfortable beds! Julian who runs it is a charming host. Anywhere you stay that has a view from your room of a Hawksmoor church across a park in central London is a winner!

This little gem of a B&B is hidden in a surprisingly historic part of London, close to Tower Bridge and nestling on Cable Street, between Tobacco Dock and Whitechapel. A beautifully converted public house, it's a bit like a Tardis with three spacious bedrooms and a very comfortable breakfast room and lounge, together with a lovely roof terrace on which...

It's the complete package, real panache here. Practical considerations were satisfied: a convenient location (E1), close to major attractions, very good transportation options. My room was well-appointed, and the bed and linens felt quite luxurious. Julian, the proprietor, is very gracious and helpful. But the inn moves into the realm of the special and unique by virtue of Julian's vision....

I had the room which is painted blue with an extremely comfortable bed with great pure white cotton sheets, a television, a huge and impressive wardrobe and a warm thick pile fitted carpet- also brand new and clean. Breakfast was sumptuous. Julian Cole was the host with the most: not interfering in any way, but always there in case anything...

I will try not to drop into cliche by using the words 'tranquil' 'oasis' or 'eclectic' in this review - but it is all of those things and more. This doesn't feel staying like a B&B or a hotel - it feels like the second home of your most tasteful and cultured friend has been thrown open to you. I...

Great location in an neighborhood full of restaurants in walking distance (great recommendation for the best curry since a long, long time). The room I stayed in was wonderfully renovated; the area, although close to everything, is quite (I could sleep with my window open). I walked along the Thames, to the docks and Tower. Julian, the host, is a...

Staying in Whitechapel

Neighbourhood Profile
Whether you're here for its dynamic street life, world class galleries or famed curry houses, you're bound to be wowed by the uniquely cosmopolitan flavor of Whitechapel. Long gone are the days when Jack the Ripper stalked its streets. And despite his mysterious legacy bringing throngs of curiosity driven tour groups to its back alleys and otherwise serene garden squares, these days you're more likely to catch a cutting edge fashionista scurrying through its age old lanes than criminals of any sort.
