Not the easiest hotel to find. Looks like any other of the victorian houses in the area. Once we found the hotel we were not greeted by a grand entrance but a closed front door, afte ringing the door bell twice the door was opened and we were ushered in. We were then taken through a very tired looking hall...

then this isn't the worst place. The room itself could definitely have done with a coat of paint. There was no alarm clock or lamp. The windows look out onto a dingy courtyard. There was no cover on the light in the bathroom and a hole in the ceiling was letting in cold air. There was a small television in...

I have stayed in this hotel regularly over the last 18 months for business trips to london. Being self employed, a good internet connection is very important for me. The wi-fi connection is the best I have ever experienced in a hotel. The signal is available throughout the hotel and is very fast. Furthermore there is NO CHARGE for this...

I paid £45 for a single room. When I turned up a guy silently led me down some stairs to a messy little office and kicked a woman (who was sipping from a protein powder shaker!) off Facebook so he could check my booking on the computer. Yes - it's not the most professional set-up! My room was actually not...

When we got to the 'hotel' I wasn't expecting it to be amazing as it was a converted house. The carpets in the hallway were very tired and there was no sign to reception, which we eventually located in the basement. The two staff that were in a room down there did not smile or even say hello! I said,...

“Room 15, top floor! LOTS of stairs, but the cupboard opens into Narnia...”
  • The view of the backyard may not be thrilling, but it made for a very quiet room
  • The old beams in the ceiling gave the room a feeling of history - and also made it feel spacious
  • A double and a single bed - and still floor space! (Sorry about our mess..)
