I went there because of its location I had to be close to belgravia and victoria. I knew that was a budget accomodation, so i expected a basic accomodation, but nothing could prepare me for what it was to come. Awful!!! The building was old and badly mantained, had bags of gravel and building materials everywhere. The door was locked,...

I was supposed to stay in Ebury House, but my room was across the street in the Eaton House. I think all of the hotels under this management are probably about the same quality. Our first room was a dungeon in the basement with a huge bathroom, but it was dirty and dingy. After finding we shared our private bathroom...

the hotel is really several seedy, old buildings so your first surprise is finding a note to check in somewhere else. They trade also as BELGRAVIA ROOMS and Hostels Ltd - BE warned and AVOID. The outside was piled with trash sacks, the corridors cluttered with old shoes and dubious laundry. The room had no heating at all in a...

First impressions... room smelt of mould, but bearable. However huge amounts of mould in the shower, coupled with the fact that the whole bathroom looked as if it had been retrofitted from an RV, it seemed a little worse. The mattress on the double bed was so bad that both my partner and myself had to sleep in a sinlge...

We were originally booked for another hostel, but ended up at the Eaton (run by the same company, Piccadilly Group Ltd). It was located on the same street though, just a short walk to Victoria Station and there was indeed tea/coffee in room, clean towels, and a decent bathroom. However, the staff was cold, the “broadband internet access” was a...

Based on some of the reviews, I was a little reluctant to stay at the Eaton House Hotel, but the hotel exceeded my expectations. I booked a room directly through their website at "[--]" so I would have more flexibility to make any changes and wouldn't have to pay a booking fee. It is about the cheapest place that you...

It was becase of my previous stay 8 years ago, that I chose to stay again at Eaton House. Back then it was friendly, run by a family, clean and served great home cooked full breakfasts. What a mistake it was to stay there in 2005. The staff down in the basement called " reception" were not friendly and didn't...

I had been in the habit of staying at the Eaton House in the mid 1990's, when it was operated by a family named, I believe, Belgrano. They were lovely considerate people and always accomodating. I found the new owners a bit peremptory and cold.

Bad points: very basic, stained carpets, narrow staircase if you have luggage, decor dated and grubby. Good points: cheap, staff friendly, good breakfast, quiet location very close to Victoria Coach station, bedlinen, towels and bathroom clean. Other comments: the hot water took a long time to come through, about 5 minutes, but when it did it stayed hot. They are...

We had a short stop in London and wanted an inexpensive place near Victoria Station. (At $144, it was relatively inexpensive!) Our expectations were low, but it was worse than we could have imagined. The room was tiny and the carpet was stained and filthy – we were afraid to take of our socks. There wasn’t a telephone, clock, or...

Staying in Belgravia

Neighbourhood Profile
Belgravia
Home to the vast majority of embassies and diplomatic residences in London, sophisticated and upscale Belgravia also boasts a wealth of luxury hotels, fine dining restaurants, and some of the city’s most stroll worthy lanes. While the prices here are high, taking a leisurely stroll through the streets of picturesque and elegant white stucco houses is free. Hyde Park and the Buckingham Palace Gardens are only a stone's throw away to the north, and some of Europe’s best shopping is nearby as well.
