We use premier inn a lot - you generally know what to expect and the standard is pretty consistent, which is reassuring when travelling with kids. This hotel is a great location for attractions on the southbank and only a 30 min walk to the London Eye. The family room (room 8) was smaller than some we have stayed in but it was clean and adequate for one nights sleep. We had two kids in the single beds and a third on a blow up ReadyBed we'd taken with us (we put the travel cot provided down but it would have been fine to use had we wanted). Breakfast was served in The Anchor pub and offered a great view up the Thames. I would definitely book this hotel again.

I'd probably rate the stay somewhere between 4 and 5. We've stayed at this hotel several times, this being the first time that we needed accommodations for 4 adults (we were here when our kids were young). The location can't be beat in our opinion, right in the heart of Borough Market, especially if food is one of your main reasons for visiting London.

The staff were friendly and professional. The front staff told us that they were not doing daily housekeeping except by request (assuming this was covid-related) We asked for housekeeping once in our week's stay but probably would've appreciated an additional cleaning, really depends on your preference. Did like the idea of not having housekeeping in and out of the room every day though.

We didn't eat at the hotel, so many choices in the Market and surrounding area.

The building looks tired, but our rooms 122, 123 felt renovated and were very comfortable and clean. 123 was a great room, spacious, clean, a/c was great, overlooking the restaurants outside. 122 was the same but smaller, prob due to a separate wheelchair accessible washroom next door. Blackout curtains were good, bed and pillows were very comfortable.

Basic, complimentary hotel Wifi was poor. May have been where our rooms were located in the hotel. This is usually a key requirement for us and was not a problem in previous stays here when we were in the family rooms. There was a premium fee-based Wifi service but we didn't consider it (and given how poor the basic one was, didn't really sell the better one in our minds). We went to a convenience store and bought two SIM cards which included calling/text and data (buy the ones that come with a printed voucher code), popped them into our phones, and were good to go. Realized we really aren't a basic-wifi family anymore, so that was fine.

There's lots of people dining in the adjacent restaurants, service vehicles, folks out for a jog or stroll, constant buzz of activity through the day and into the evening. We returned to the hotel by 9 pm, in bed by 11/12. As a fairly sound sleeper, I wasn't bothered by the outdoor noises (Anchor restaurant attached to hotel) but a lighter sleeper may be. The windows/building did a good job of noise control. There are hotel noises: in our area of the hotel, we guessed there were occasionally noises (guessing a macerator pump?).

This location is just perfect. Right next to the River, Borough Market & London Bridge Station. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the staff were so helpful. St Paul’s Cathedral is a 10min walk and just outside the hotel entrance is a Nandos, Wagamama, Pret, Bills (great for breakfast) and to top it off, the Anchor pub which has great views overlooking the river.
They also have parking for 3 cars plus 1 disabled parking and considering the location, very reasonable price wise.
Can’t speak highly enough about the location, cleanliness and friendliness of staff.
If kids like Pasta/Pizza 10min walk is Vapianos and for something a bit more fancy, Burger & Lobster or Bread Street Kitchen (Gordon Ramsey Resteraunt) is also about 10mins walk.

Can not fault the location. On the doorstep of Borough Market and within walking distance of the Globe Theatre and other Bankside attractions.

Pros
Location
Quiet, good sized room.
Comfy bed (a bit on the hard side, but fine for me)
Friendly staff
Reception happy to provide supplies if you opt not to have the room cleaned.

Cons
One too many cost cuts for my liking.
Air con was only source of heat but kept turning itself off every 4 hours. Reported, not fixed.
Loo had the sort of individual sheet toilet paper dispenser you usually see in public toilets. I bought my own.
Shower head was broken - water overflowed the sides. Reported, not fixed.
"Free" Wifi is painfully slow (1Mb/s down; 0.2Mb/s up). Not suitable for working. Premium service is needed (£15/week 8Mb down 1Mb up) if you want to do anything other than check emails.
Both hot and cold breakfasts are served buffet style. Hot breakfast is not freshly cooked. There are better options for breakfast locally.

In summary, great hotel for a 1-2 day break. Any longer I'd be looking for better included facilities.

Never come across a premier inn that can’t serve breakfast, but if you cannot then make it clear when booking.

Told we cannot park in a certain spot only to find a later arrival grabbing the very space, what happened to first come first serve as advertised.

Booked two nights but why can’t we have a room made up on 2nd day or at least more than 2 teabags for two days for two people

Hi, Thank you for your review. We’re very sorry that you had a disappointing stay with us recently due to not being able to have breakfast as well as issues with the car park. We're also sorry that you aren't happy with the room not being serviced on the second day. This certainly isn't the experience we would expect for you. We’ve ensured this feedback has been logged to the Hotel Management team so that they can look into these issues with the team to prevent this experience from being repeated again in the future. Thank you for taking the time to contact us and we hope we can welcome you for a more enjoyable stay in the future. Kind regards, James

This is a fantastic location. The decor in the main communal areas could do with a makeover as the carpets were grubby and the skirting boards and walls have lots of scuffs. The rooms are clean and functional but the beds are not particularly comfy. The staff however are really lovely and so helpful. Currently not restaurant available so a walk to another premier inn is required if you’ve booked breakfast, but this will be rectified by December when the hotel will have a restaurant

We’ve just spent a long weekend there and can’t praise it highly enough! Fantastic location, near London Bridge station, easy to get into the west end on the underground or overground. Fabulous restaurants and bars around Borough market. Darius on reception was great, we had a problem with our shower, he offered to change our room ( which we couldn’t be bothered to) so he fixed a new shower head on immediately resolving the problem. We were in room 305 which was good, we couldn’t hear any noise from the bars nearby. Will definitely stay again. Great price for a London hotel.

We always stay at the Premier Inn, in Borough market. It is at a fabulous location for walking around London also great for transport links, tube and British rail. You can take in the tourist spots or just spend time in the numerous bars and restaurants around Borough market. Jump on the train at London Bridge to Charing Cross for Covent Garden or Jubilee line for Canary Wharf. The rooms are typical Premier Inn but very quiet, considering the location. The reception team are extremely helpful and will go beyond to assist with anything. There was renovations going on, during our stay, but it didn’t disrupt us at all. Another great stay we will definitely be back! If you want a central location at a good price you can’t beat it.

So I stayed at this hotel back in July 2021 for two nights with my two small children. My main complaint is after my first night, the next morning my boys were playing on the floor with their soft toys that they sleep with and then asked me "Daddy why is my cuddly full of hair?" - I then realized the entire corner of the carpet was full of human hair. Someone has clearly shaved in front of the mirror, sadly I can not tell what was shaved which makes the whole incident even more upsetting. Anyway I was offered a re-clean or room move for my second night, and opted for a re-clean, as too much stuff to move with small children. (I challenge anyone to then be without your child's favourite cuddly for a night !) I have also requested a full refund, as coupled with the poor hygiene issue my shower was also broken and with water pouring out the top oppose to the actual shower head. It has taken me until today 4th October to be told my case will be closed and I will not getting any further refund (I got £30 out of my £155) due to the fact that the complaint doesn't fall under our "Goodnight Guarantee promise" and that they consider the case closed. My frustration now lies with Premier Inn as a whole as the complaint was dealt with by Premier Inn Guest Relations, and if this is how they deal with a hygiene issue amidst a pandemic and covid cleanliness campaigns then I would rather stay elsewhere next time.

4 night stay in 2 rooms, with my wife and student son.

Great location, very good stay overall. One minor issue when our room wasn't serviced one day was dealt with efficiently by duty manager who made a point of asking us whether it had been resolved to our satisfaction.

Breakfasts were generally good - slightly disorganised one day when there was no hot buffet and three full cooked breakfasts appeared when we only wanted one!

Surprisingly quiet rooms for central London too. Great for walking along the Thames and handy for much of central London.

Id'e just leave the booking as it is and turn up. I can't imagine that Premier inns will be checking up on your children's ages when you check in.
