The hotel was very well positioned for Fenchurch Street, the room was excellent but the electrical and phone were not working properly. Staff friendly and breakfast was really good. Downstairs was looking a bit tired but rooms seemed newly restored.

Lovely hotel in a great location a couple of minutes from Tower Hill. Great base for getting out and about round the city. The staff were very friendly, last thing at night and first thing in the morning. There were also complimentary beers, water and fresh milk in the mini fridge which was a great touch. We ate twice in...

Our cab driver made fun of us for staying in the "business district" when he dropped us off here. It was a great location for us though, as we were mostly interested in the Tower of London and Jack the Ripper. The man at the front desk was amazingly helpful and super friendly. The attached bar was cozy and fun....

Worth the money and a pub just downstairs with good food/breakfast. The internet was very fast and reliable so it did help me as I normally work on the go and that's an important point for most of the places I stay. I would definitely stay there again.

I was in London for a business trip and wanted someplace quiet, convenient, but with some food options around. Chamberlain is very close to 2 tube stations and walkable to many areas. Staff was very pleasant. Room was exceptionally clean, and the bathroom was wonderfully large! It was a bit noisier than some other London hotels I've tried, but nothing...

An excellent hotel all round. The staff were polite and friendly, the room was comfortable, spacious and quiet (situated at back of the hotel). The complimentary water and beer in the fridge was a lovely surprise and all in all, we had a lovely experience staying there. We would definitely recommend the hotel.

A really good 'London pub hotel'. Well positioned for tube travel and of course a stone's throw from the Tower of London. We found the standard of welcome, service, facilities and cleanliness to be of very good quality and we would recommend the hotel to others seeking a good value London base for business or holiday.

Room service charges not published; excessive charging (bottled water £ 4.85); reception unhelpful, resturant food just frozen stuff sacked in oven and served; only best thing was bed - very comfortable but stupid headboard making sitting up in bed impossible!

Dear 782ashp, thank you for taking the time to share you experience. I am sorry to read that this has not lived up to our normal standards and I apologise for the unexpected minimal tray service charge applied to room service, I will revisit the literature for transparency. The bottle of water must have been a large bottle, however if...

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
