The Hotel is situated in a very good (high class) area of London. I was shocked to find that the rooms we booked had no aircon. The reception area had aircon, but not my rooms. Instead, they had some pretty inneffective fans/coolers in the room. I fail to understand why a hotel in such a good area would not have...

Good located place to stay in London. Two tube stationstations and bus stops are near. Many restaurants and shops in the area. Price of the room is expensive and there is only one lift to the floors 1 , 2 , 3 and 4 where sometimes you need to wait long. Furniture need to be renewed urgently. Air conditioning system...

We stayed 5 nights. The location was great. Just a short walk to both the Bayswater and Queensway Tube stations. Even closer to Groceries and restaurants. Staff were helpful. It was hot while we were there and the windows could only open a small way so it was uncomfortable sleeping. The room was as described.

We checked into our quad room which was not what we expected. This in some ways is the fault of our travel agent. There was a queen and a sofa bed. We would never have booked if we knew it was a sofa bed. The sofa bed was uncomfortable so we asked if this was there biggest room and were...

Decent apartment. We booked what was called "Room Only" for 3 adults. It ended up being a common area with kitchenette and double bed, and a separate bedroom with 2 twin beds. 1 bathroom that was pretty good. Nice fridge and microwave and the beds were comfortable enough. No air conditioning which wouldn't normally be an issue in London but...

We booked a two-bedroom apartment for family. The rooms we got was very small, not suitable for family of 5 and poorly ventilated. Fans were not working, we felt like living in an oven. I will never stay in this hotel again.

Grand plaza service apartments . Even in the name , this place is a joke! The quality of the rooms is absolutely terrible. No air conditioning, no or very little ventilation and extremely claustrophobic rooms. Narrow stairs, heavy fire doors dividing very small rooms. I work in regional and outback Queensland in Australia and I stay in country motels or...

Due to a last minute business trip to London and a severe lack of hotels, I had to stay here. Despite the £270 price tag, it was grim to say the least. I had a basement room that was very hot (no air con) and seemed to be infested with tiny flies (at least 70-80 flies – yuk!) which reception...

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighbourhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Grand Plaza apartments give you the independence and catering flexibility of your own home together with the comfort and service of a 4* hotel. Think of us as your home, but with cleaning, catering, porters and reception staff thrown in. Serviced apartments are the new direction for the hotel industry. They provide a ready made home rather than a ready made room. Each apartment has its own fully equipped kitchen. You choose whether to enjoy your own home cooking or try the Grand Plaza Breakfast or visit one of the myriad of restaurants within walking distance of the Hotel (or heat up a takeaway!) Grand Plaza is the largest Hotel/Apartment complex in Bayswater. We won the 2009 award for best serviced apartments in London as a result of votes from the readers of Business Destinations Magazine. We accommodate more people each day (tourist, leisure, romantic and business) than any other Serviced Apartment Hotel in the area.We are located in the centre of the West End overlooking the precise type of garden square which Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts climbed into in the Golden Globe nominated film, Notting Hill! We look forward to providing you with a home in central London. ... more   less
