I have stayed at the hotel on several occasions with friends and family over the years. It is conveniently located to amenieties. The service is excellent, the beds are really comfortable. The staff are very friendly and always happy to help. The breakfast is good and the woman who serves tea, coffee etc is really helpful. The bathrooms are on the small size, but I only stay to go visit places and friends and so don't spend a lot of time in the bathroom! It is clean and comfortable and quiet. I would recommend the hotel to anyone as it's close to Kensington Gardens, Paddington train and tube station, and so can get to any tourist attraction easily.

Horrendous. seen better W/Cs an showers in a old caravan, Very cramped rooms an could only just walk around bed, Horrible musty smell, Really Really hot room with no air con etc and would have been way too hot to sleep with no fan supplied. No Tea making facility (Probably because there was no room to put anything) No Lift, Great location though for Paddington station and eating place. We refused to stay as it was that bad and could not get a refund although we did know this when we booked and would have accepted most places but this place is unreal stay well away

Dear Colin Squire, Ordinarily, we appreciate guests taking the time to leave feedback, contributing to our ongoing efforts for improvement. Unfortunately, we must express our disappointment that your comments stem from a cancelled reservation where you didn’t actually stay, rendering your feedback lacking in firsthand experience. You openly acknowledged being well aware of the cancellation fee when deciding to cancel, and we empathize with your frustration regarding this fee. However, receiving an unjust and baseless one-star review solely due to the circumstances surrounding the cancellation, without an actual stay, is truly disheartening. Your review, unfortunately, contains inaccuracies and discrepancies that we feel are crucial to address for the sake of future guests. Transparency is a core value for us, and we strive to communicate clearly on our website and agency platforms that we do not have an elevator or air conditioning. Nevertheless, we offer well-ventilated rooms with openable windows and powerful fans, ensuring a comfortable environment, especially during warmer weather. Furthermore, we are always ready to accommodate guest requests for lower floor rooms and extend our assistance with luggage as needed. Regarding your mention of compact bathrooms, this deliberate design choice aims to maximize room space while maintaining cleanliness and offering essential amenities for a comfortable stay. Additionally, we take pride in providing complimentary tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and biscuits to enhance our guests' experience. Lastly, regarding the title of your review and its conclusion, we are saddened by the attempt to dissuade others from experiencing our lovely small family-run hotel, particularly given the dedication we put into creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere. For a more accurate representation of our hotel, we encourage potential guests to explore the genuine reviews from those who have actually stayed with us and experienced the charm of The Omega Hotel firsthand. We are confident that these authentic experiences will speak louder than this unfulfilled reservation. Simon The Omega Hotel

What a gem in Paddington! We went on a girls’ trip, the hotel was perfect. These are by no means luxury accommodations, but the service is excellent, staff is so nice, every area of the Omega is super clean, and it is so quiet. Our room had no fridge, but a blow dryer is provided as well as a fan should it be needed. The breakfast is a continental one, so don’t expect anyone preparing an omelet for you, but it is good and the sweet lady who takes care of the guests is wonderful. Bars, pubs, stores, restaurants are aplenty around the corner, so are bus and trains and the tube. We felt safe. It’s a personable place, and we would definitely go back. Thanks for taking care of us, Omega staff!

We stayed here for three nights in July 2023. The location is superb; it’s nearby Paddington station along with great restaurants in the area (try Paramount Lebanese kitchen, their hummus was sooooo smooth!) However, the room is quite small and the bathroom reminded me of a toilet in Finnish trains. The breakfast was okay, but knowing what a full English breakfast is like, it felt almost non-existent. The staff was very friendly and helpful. If you’re about to stay here, book it for the location, not for the luxuries.

Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your feedback on your recent stay with us. We greatly appreciate your kind remarks about our superb location near Paddington station and the wonderful dining options available in the area. However, we are sorry to hear that you found the size of the room to be smaller than anticipated. As a heritage building located in central London, we face limitations when it comes to the size of our rooms. Despite these constraints, we continuously strive to offer a comfortable and cosy experience to our guests. We hope that the character and charm of our historic property, which adds a unique touch to your stay, compensated for any lack of space you may have experienced. Regarding the bathroom, we have designed them to be compact in order to maximize the available room space. However, we assure you that cleanliness is of utmost importance to us, and our dedicated team ensures that the bathrooms are kept in impeccable condition. Despite their compact size, we have made certain to include all the necessary amenities to provide a comfortable stay for our guests. We appreciate your feedback regarding breakfast and apologize if there was any confusion regarding the type of breakfast we serve. We do specify on agency websites and our own that we offer a continental breakfast, and not a full English breakfast. We regret any inconvenience caused by this miscommunication. On a positive note, we are delighted to hear that our staff provided you with a friendly and helpful service. They take great pride in ensuring that our guests feel welcome and well taken care of throughout their stay. Once again, we sincerely appreciate your feedback and thank you for choosing our hotel. We value your patronage and hope that the overall experience, combined with our convenient location, has left you with positive memories. It would be our pleasure to welcome you back in the future. Warm regards, Simon The Omega Hotel

Our room, which was very basic and lacking in character for an older building was on the third floor and there is no lift. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room, only in the foyer. If you have mobility problems, avoid. The saving grace was breakfast which was well organised, hence two stars rather than one.

Dear valued guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent stay with us. We appreciate your comments, both positive and constructive, as they help us to improve our services and facilities. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the lack of a lift in our older building. As a heritage property, installing a lift can be challenging due to structural limitations. We understand that this may have posed difficulties for guests with mobility issues, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused. We strive to provide accurate information about our facilities, including the absence of a lift, to ensure that our guests can make informed decisions when booking their accommodations. Furthermore, we apologize for the absence of tea or coffee making facilities in the room. We understand that these amenities are important for many guests to have a comfortable and convenient stay. Your feedback has been duly noted, and we will evaluate the possibility of adding such facilities to our rooms in the future. We are pleased to hear that you found our breakfast well organized and enjoyable. We make it a priority to offer a satisfying dining experience to all our guests, and we are glad that we were able to provide a saving grace during your stay. Once again, we appreciate your feedback and apologize for any inconvenience caused. We value your patronage and hope that, despite the shortcomings you experienced, you were still able to enjoy certain aspects of your stay with us. It would be our pleasure to welcome you back in the future and provide you with an improved experience. Warm regards, Simon The Omega Hotel

As someone who has stayed at literally dozens of hotels in the Paddington over the past 21 years, and having my share of negative experiences, I have to say that you can't go wrong with The Omega. The rooms are incredibly clean and have a brand new look and feel, leaving me with the impression that the management are sticklers for upkeep. It's in a fantastic location overlooking Sussex Gardens and is just a 2 minute walk to Paddington Station, which can take you directly to every Major tourist attraction. Great value and definitely recommend!

I can't imagine under which circumstances this hotel can be a good choice. Very noisy front rooms, the smell of the room was really bad, probably emerging from an old carpet. Light would enter the room at 6am since the blinds were fairly unsufficient to keep light out. The bathroom is a pre-fabricated PVC module stuffed in a corner of the room. You can hardly fit in there, let alone have a shower without having real trouble. Very uncomfortable altogether. No table, no room to place the suitcase. Service is that of a youth hostal, friendly, but then again, prices belonged to an executive 4 star rated hotel. No room service whatsoever. Breakfast on the basement until 9am was OK, homely made. It was expected that rooms not facing Sussex Gardens were quieter.

Dear guest, Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your recent stay at our hotel. We regret that your experience did not meet your expectations. We would like to address your concerns and provide clarification on certain aspects. As we are located in central London, it is natural to experience some level of city noise. However, we assure you that the noise levels do decrease significantly during the night. We apologize if the noise affected your comfort during your stay. We recently replaced the carpets in all our rooms with brand new luxurious woollen carpets in April 2023. While the new carpets may have had a slight new carpet wool smell initially, we have taken note of your comments and will ensure that the rooms are well-aired and vacuumed daily to address any lingering odor. Regarding the size of the rooms, we regret any inconvenience caused. As a heritage building in central London, we have limitations on the size of our rooms. Despite this, we strive to create a comfortable and cozy environment for our guests. We believe that the character and charm of our historic property contribute to a unique and memorable stay. Our bathrooms are designed to be compact to maximize the available space in the rooms. However, we assure you that they are cleaned thoroughly and equipped with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. We apologize if the size of the bathroom did not meet your expectations. We appreciate your feedback about the lack of room service. As a budget bed & breakfast hotel, we do not provide room service. However, we do have a common breakfast room where guests can enjoy their breakfast, which you found to be homely and satisfactory. We understand that your overall experience fell short of your expectations, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused. We appreciate your acknowledgement of the positive elements of the hotel, and we regret that your rating did not reflect these aspects. Thank you once again for sharing your feedback. Your comments help us identify areas for improvement, and we value your patronage. Kind regards, Simon The Omega Hotel

A clean hotel with friendly staff. We were lucky to be given 2 rooms on the ground floor as the hotel has no lifts. It is very close to Paddington Railway Station and Paddington Tube Station. There are many eateries around the area. They gave us 2 pillows each, as requested, and also extra towels and toiletries. Breakfast was basic but sufficient for a good start to the day. Bananas and apples were readily available, unlike some B&Bs, which only serve a limited number. There was also enough yoghurt to go around. The Mongolian lady who is in charge of breakfast takes pride in her work and is very friendly too. My only little complaint is that the room is not air- conditioned, but they gave us a fan. I would certainly stay at this hotel again in cooler months.
