The Main House feels like home and the service is excellent, Caroline and Anna are wonderful. It is very comfortable. The Main House is centrally located in an area with all conveniences and public transportation is right at the front door (bus stop is around the corner), or short walk to subway(tube) to get to all major attractions. Portobello market... More

A truly spectacular little gem in the heart of London. We do alot of business in London and we always try and stay at the Main House because it feels more like a welcoming home than a hotel.

This was like staying at a friend's home while they were traveling. The location and room were perfect. If you need someone to wait on you- try somewhere else. My wife and i couldn't have been more pleased.

What a perfect stay! So chic and stylish without being pretentious, the place is in perfect taste and absolute harmony with it's surroundings. Anyone wishing to stay in Notting Hill will find this to be the quintessential Notting Hill Bed and Breakfast. Plank wood floors, huge rooms, crisp linens and yes, the tea or coffee simply must be served in... More

We have just returned from London where we spent six wonderful nights at “The Main House”. This is THE place to stay if you want to feel at home. The atmosphere is so warm, friendly and romantic that it is as if you have your own hideaway in London. Caroline is a great hostess an exceptional lady. We booked the... More

Our stay at the Main House was great and just what we were looking for. Caroline arranged for a driver to pick us up at the airport which was a treat because we were exhausted by the time we landed (very reasonable). Our room was very big, the bed very comfortable and I swear we had the largest bathroom in... More

My husband and I spent a wonderful four days at The Main House during our Honeymoon. Caroline and her staff gave us the top floor of the Victorian House for our stay. We had a nice sized bedroom with a large comfortable bed and a very large second room with a TV, couch, and two chairs. It was beautifully furnished... More

We love visiting London and have stayed at The Main House four times and we plan on staying there again. The location is outstanding. The surrounding neighborhood is pleasant and safe. There are wonderful resturants everywhere. We particularly love Tom's... great food and reasonable prices. The Tube is just a short distance away. But if you like, you can even... More

My husband, baby and I stayed in the Main House and loved it. The location can't be beat. The rooms were spotless and spacious. And Caroline was very welcoming and friendly. It felt like staying in someone's home, not in a bland, impersonal hotel. We would return in a heartbeat!

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighbourhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
