An incredibly funky hotel based on a film set. Quirky bar and fabulous rooms. I really enjoyed a comfortable stay here and could have easily stayed longer. Minor couple of gripes which dropped the Ibis from 5 star to a 4 for me. All the staff I dealt with were fantastic except for 1 rather rude barman who spoilt an...

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW

I expected a cheap and nasty chain hotel but was pleasantly surprised. The lobby and room were nicely and unusually styled with an amazing view of the shard. My only criticism of the room would be it was too dark and needed another bin in the room - rather than just the bathroom. Good shower and comfy beds. Breakfast was...

Many thanks for your kind review. I am glad my team made your stay enjoyable. We will however review our current breakfast offer, let alone the water dispensed by the machine. Thanks for bringing that issue to our attention. Francisco Sanchez Assistant Manager

The themed nature of the hotel decor doesn't quite work, but our stay was comfortable, staff were helpful and relaxed and the breakfast was great. Great location - a short walk to Borough Market, which is a gem,and Tate Modern. London Bridge is only a few minutes walk away. Plenty of good restaurants nearby. We haven't stayed in this part...

we chose this place as we could not get Novotel for our dates. The room was good but had a leaky bathroom. we stayed here for 7 days and had to ask for tea sachets almost always as the house keeping never bothered to keep any. Also the restaurant where we had breakfast had very few staff who were not...

Highly impressed by my first stay at an Ibis Styles - it does live up to its marketing! Fantastic, quirky decor throughout; a stylish, comfy bedroom; fabulous breakfast - highlights for me being the virgin bloody mary shots and the homemade banana bread! Popcorn maker in the public area along with a small but tasty and attractive drink & food...

Great location with 5 minute walk to London Bridge tube station, 10 minutes to London Bridge train station. Loved the funky décor of the hotel. Good selection at the buffet breakfast - great value for money.

We booked for the location but I'll come back for both the location and the decor! I noted that a continental breakfast was included and usually prefer a cooked when I'm in a hotel but this spread was akin to some of the best brunches I've had. Mini french toasts in shot glasses of maple syrup, tiny donuts, banana breads,...

Southwark is a trendy area in London providing a great choice of pubs and restaurants within a real historic environment. The Borough market is a must for 'foodies' and is a quick stroll from the hotel as is London Bridge station for convenient access to all London offers. The hotel was a real find and will return again and again...

This is a good property for those interested in staying in central London at competitive rates. Nothing fancy about the hotel, but it is decent for short stay. Good amount of eating options around. I would recommend cleaning of aircon/heater units as loads of dust was deposited in the aircon/heater louvers.

Staying in Southwark

Neighbourhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
