Went for food and drinks. Food was lovely, drinks were good, atmosphere was great. I was only put off when the Thai chef (assuming she’s Thai), came in the toilet, used it and didn’t wash her hands considering she is dealing with food. Absolutely disgusting. Won’t ever be returning :-(

Hi Unfortunately we don’t have a staff toilet for the chef to use but she does have her own hand wash sink with her own soap for sensitive skin. I realise it might have not looked good but Saing would have washed her hands properly straight after she left the toilet. I realise this might seem “convenient” but I can assure you it is true! Thanks Jamie

I lived in Tooting for a while now, but never been to this pub before. I saw their sign 2 for 1 cocktails and I got intrigued. I came on Friday with my mate and we have tried quite a few cocktails. They have big variety which is great. We had also some nibbles which were absolutely amazing. What was nice to see also, Staff is super friendly and nice, especially the lady that survived mainly (Julia), she was brilliant, great food and cocktails recommendations. Definitely will visit again. It will be my new favourite local.

Came to visit my son in Tooting from Wales so glad i booked this hotel. Its in the middle f town with lots of shops and resturants neaby, and excellent transport links. Fabulous pub arrived friday night and decided to stay here for the evening the be gsrden was buzzing, great atmosphere. The staff were really lovely and helpful, drinks readonable for London pricess and the food was delicious. I booked a ingle room as it wasladt minute which was really clean and tidy, toilets were only 2 doors down, the only thing i struggled with and this is just a personal preference is that as a larger lady i found the shower being right next to the bed a bit difficult but otherwise it was a great stay and will definitely book for my next visit.

Food was canny. Wandered in out the blue, decent pint and nice selection. Nice garden in the weather. Food was the highlight, not a menu you'd expect in a pub. Will be coming back when I am next arooooond Sucked me in for the poker... now I'm skint. Memories.

I'm not fussed with decour all I want is a bed for the night! Comfy preferably! Room in need of updating, not sure why I booked a pub. To be fair we were going to be out late but ended up coming back as had a long day! Did think what have I done as music loud but it did end at 11 so not an issue and to be expected in a pub. We had a twin room, one bed not too bad but the other was awful. So I had warned husband it didn't look great and only a 2 star but we thought all you want is to be warm and comfy. My son has just moved into the area so looking for a regular spot to stay. Which won't be here My husband's bed had springs all sticking up, the bed linen even had the imprint of the springs! Pretty dirty in communal areas and in the room. No TV remote and TV in a rediculous place if lying on the bed, you'd need to perch on the end! Couldn't get WiFi, you probably had to go down and ask but I'd put PJ's on and had got settled for the night and couldn't be bothered. Shower didn't look very inviting so didn't bother we were up and out as soon as possible. One good thing is a place to park!

Just had a horrible experience at the long room. Arrived to have a nice time with a friend, only to find that the tables and seating area were extremely dirty. Not only was it dirty but a very unhelpful manager was extremely rude to us. Will not be returning.

Not only does the pub charge extortionate prices given its state but a particular member of staff was incredibly rude and unhelpful. If I ever come and visit the beautiful tooting again I will not be stepping foot in this pub!

I stayed here with my wife last week for a few days whilst we were visiting friends in the area. The accommodation is fairly basic but very reasonably priced. Norman the manager was very attentive, as were all the staff and the kitchen turns out some really good thai food. Its a very handy location if you want to jump on the tube into central London, and there is also a free car park at the rear.

On 30th of September l rang The Mitre Hotel in Tooting - from Ireland - to book a twin room for the first weekend in November. I have stayed there about 20 times over the last 15 years; so all my details were already in their system. On arrival at 2:15pm on Saturday afternoon - we were informed that we didn't have a booking. I showed the staff member the call log on my phone. He apologised. He said it wasn't written in the book. The hotel was full; and he couldn't put somebody out of their room. We asked what we were supposed to do and he said he didn't know. He could see that we were clearly shocked to discover that there was no room at the Inn. I pointed out that this was their mistake not ours. He said he knew that, but all the rooms were full. I asked to speak to manager Paddy. He said that Paddy doesn't work there anymore; and he is the manager there now. I asked what he does in overbooking situations? He said it never happened to him before. He asked us what he should do? My friend suggested that he ring around and find us some nearby accommodation! We voiced our disappointment at the situation several times We sat at a table in the bar for half an hour while he did this. He came out to us twice, but appeared to prefer to stay out of sight in the back office. He found us a more expensive hotel - about a 15 minute walk away. We were not familiar with the hotel or the location. It was well off the beaten track - from the hub of Tooting high street; bus stops etc. We were due to meet friends at Lahore Karahi at 3:15pm - but had to cancel. I accept that mistakes happen all the time. I believe however that the previous manager would have:- 1. Communicated his genuine apology more clearly 2. Made himself visible while he attempted to solve THEIR mistake 3. Offered us a coffee while we waited in the bar for half an hour (a gin may have been more called for during that anxious wait however) 4. Offered to assist us with directions to the new accommodation 5. Walked us to the front door - rather than remaining in the office We believe that the new manager may be an experienced bar man - we don't know - but lacks the people skills re: managing a small hotel. Little did we know that our last stay - pre-covid - really was our last stay!!

We've been in here a few times now and the welcome is always top draw. It's got a great atmosphere and very tidy decor. The Thai lady in the kitchen does a fab Pad Thai as well! I would highly recommend
