This is a very simple hotel, breakfast is basic, fixtures and fittings are very old and the heating was constantly on maximum, which made it very warm. This all wouldn't bother me too much but it's £80 p/night for a single room and £120 p/night for a double, which is just far too expensive for near hostel standards.

Having read other reviews I was a bit worried but the Pembury was a pleasant surprise. The staff were all really friendly and helpful, the room was basic but spotlessly clean, the bathroom was tiny but perfectly serviceable and the toiletries were excellent. There were lots of clean fluffy white towels and plenty of tea and coffee in the room.... More

Definitely would not recommend! DO NOT BOOK HERE...! Came here after a friend booked it for one night after a concert. Arrived around 14:30ish to good service, checked into our rooms which looked clean but very plain. The aroma that lingered in our room was just about bearable and as we looked around, we saw that the dressing table was... More

I booked this hotel knowing that it was just somewhere for me to sleep and was not wanting a fancy expensive hotel. For £30 a night the hotel is very close to central london (about 5mins on tube to kings cross) and offered a free simple breakfast. The staff were really friendly and told us nearest tube station directions and... More

Where to start? Upon arrival at 9pm (having travelled for 5 hours) we were told that the hotel had no record of our booking with little desire to help us understand what had gone wrong or what we should do next (given its 9pm at night!). The booking agent (who'd we booked with) then spent 45 minutes arguing with the... More

This hotel is plain, clean, very reasonably priced and in a good location. There is safe parking available at £20 per night. The bedroom is basic, for example no bedside lights. The size of the bedroom is small but adequate, however the bathroom is tiny. You have to dry yourself in the bedroom because there is no space to swing... More

Don't let the nice foyer fool you, the entrance might be nice but the rooms are disgusting. I've picked nearly 30 hairs off the bed, some of them pubic, mould on the bathroom ceiling, dust everywhere, walls all dirty and cigarette burns over the furniture. Don't believe the hotel pics of the rooms because that's nothing what they are like.... More

These lovely photos of the rooms are definitely NOT what we were shown to. We were shown to a separate shack out the back which had cracks in the window, carpet fleas , box room, holes in the wall, mould in the shower and was just absolutely awful, on entering the seperate building there was an empty Carling cab wedged... Good location as far as proximity to the underground train (only about a five minute walk). Rooms are very small and walls are thin. You can hear everything in the other rooms and hallways and sirens can be heard all night so bring ear plugs if noise bothers you. That being said it was adequate for what we wanted, just... More
