Me and my boyfriend stayed at the excelsior on the 23rd of March 2017 and from the outset the hotel looked lovely and the reception was very modern... it went down hill from there. As we walked into the room we felt like Harry potter under the stairs as the room was about 6ft wide and extremely cramped.. As we...

had the worst experience you can imagine - after spending a lot of time selection which hotel to have for a memorable occasion with my partner we booked this hotel. Spoke to reception an hour before arrival (which was very late check in). Only to find when we arrived our room was not available. Was then left in reception and...

Staff were very friendly and efficient. Room was clean but very small, with telly, sink and small wardrobe. There was an unseasonable heat wave so I left the window open - room was a pleasant cool temp. when I got back late. Slept well. The only downside was that, I suppose as my room was at the very top, the...

I stayed just one night at the Excelsior which is attached to the Melville Hotel next door. Room was small but clean and the bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in, in a hotel. It was near Euston station and was surrounded by great restaurants and cafes.

We stayed in this hotel for one night. The room we stayed in was small and the bathroom smaller too. That said it was nicely decorated and had most of the basic things you would need. Weirdly it had a kettle and cups but no tea of coffee to put in them though. The room was mostly clean but the...

The man at the desk was very disagreeable, can't even say hello. The room was VERY COLD! Heating worked but the room only got warm by the time I left the next morning so I was frozen all night. My room was next to the toilet, with very thin walls, which meant that I didn't sleep a wink!! The walls...

My first visit to London and I had been warned that people here are not friendly - untrue staff have been friendly and helpful. My single room is small but clean warm and comfy - as a solo traveler it is perfect for my needs.

Arrived for a 1 night stay with my friend, pictures looked great, a fairly cheap hotel which was exactly what we wanted. However, we ended up having what seemed like a box room on the very top floor of the hotel. Barely enough room to put our stuff down, we just found it difficult to do anything without being stupidly...

Clean hotel in great location- A bit pricey for what you get though! Stayed here for 2 nights with my partner for a weekend. Firstly the hotel is in great location 2 minutes walk to Kings Cross St Pancras Station. The room was clean however very small (a comfy double bed, ensuit, TV and mirror but no room to move....

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
