The YMCA room was more than adequate for weekend stay in london. Comfy beds- great central heating- good breakfast-clean and within walking distance of most attractions.friendly helpful staff.close to Regent park and tube station.
This hostel is a little odd if you're not Indian as i think it has a lot of Indian students staying long term. It's like a little piece of India in the middle of London from the head wobbles of the staff to the Indian...More
This primarily a hostel for students from India studying in London but they also offer accommodation to travelers. We stayed in the new jubilee building on the fourth floor - room (small but we found it adequate for the two of us) had all basic...More
I abandoned the secluded Isle of Wight life on 6/10/2016, visited Kuala Lumpur (my family live there) for two weeks and landed back in London on 21/10/2016. I stayed at The YMCA Indian Student Hostel from 22/10/2016 (my second day back in UK soil) to...More
It is the no.1place to live for central London. As. The name indicates, it is purely Indian. So, cooking, culture everything is Indian. If you don't like India or Indians, this is not the place for you. Before you disappear, can you name once place...More
This sophisticated and sociable slice of Central London is a shopper’s paradise, offering the latest fashions, gadgets, and souvenirs. Fitzrovia is conveniently located between the major retail thoroughfares of Regent Street to the west and Tottenham Court Road to the east, with a handful of well connected Tube stations dotted around the area for easy transport. This neighbourhood is a favorite
among foodies as well, with an impressive number of quality restaurants, pubs, cafes and food shops vying for your patronage – especially along Charlotte Street and near Goodge Street Station.

Hi, The room in which we stayed had moulds in the corners of the shower cabin and soap holder. You would also need to tell the house keeping people to change your towels and only then they will do it. Also there is dust in the vents of the bathroom. Having said this, you may register a complaint with the reception and they may be able to help. In my case the light suddenly went off and they got it checked and got it back again.
My stay was only for 5 days, however I did notice a lot of students staying here and would believe they were staying for long.
Hope this helps.

The menu has a spread of Indian recipes including Breakfast ,Lunch and Dinner with vegetarian including rice, plain or vegetable rice, salads, pulses, pickles, Indian bread and desert. There is a non veg dish also with lunch and dinner (with curry ). Given for the price that is there in YMCA , it is a suitable, simple and healthy food menu.
