I stayed at the Gallery with extended family. It's a small hotel with only 36 rooms. The rooms are not large but are clean and quiet. It's a cozy hotel with an "art gallery" feel to the lobby. We got to talk to the staff a lot, and they were very nice and helpful. The breakfast was included in our...

We stayed for 2 nights at the end of May. Plus points were location, friendliness of staff, quality of breakfasts, nice shower. Minus points were size of the rooms (small), tired looking decor, old style chunky looking tv set and being on the front of the building it was noisy at times during the night. Does it merit a 4*...

We stayed 5 days and were really pleased. The room was neat and clean and the bathroom modern and clean. The room size was larger than other hotels we have stayed at for the same price. The restaurant is generous with the included breakfast. The staff was very nice. The public decor was comfortable but a little dated and faded,...

Picked this hotel in London from the super break website as it was a mystery hotel and 4star as my son was going for an interview for an important job I thought it would be nice for him to stay somewhere with a little bit of luxury how wrong I was. When we arrived my husband and I where told...

I booked this hotel pretty much last minute as it was close to our UK office. The price looked ok until I realised that at the check out online they load on a service fee, that bumps the price back up to the average rate for the area (bit irritating). The communal areas of the hotel are nice in a...

Very dated. We stayed there although we had booked the Gainsborough on the other side of the road. Good position for museums and close to South Kensington tube station. Hotel could do with a revamp. Stained wallpaper ( maybe a leak) and sink badly cracked I bathroom. Beds ok, nice clean feeling sheets. Must be better hotels for the money.

We picked the hotel for 2 reasons, close to the V&A museum and the hotel looked to interesting. Hotel reception area lived up to expectation and was very elegant, check in was quick and easy, we were offered free coffee whilst we checked in.and a porter took our luggage to our room. Again the room seemed to meet our expectation,...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
