I stayed here with my wife and elderly parents in two rooms in April 2017. It was their choice of hotel. On arrival it looked tired and run down with the gold leaf sign over the doors all faded. The revolving door gave the impression the bearings were about to give up as it was very difficult to turn. After...

Although first impression of the outside of the hotel was of a typically "seen better days" sea-front building, it is fair to say that once in the Reception area it is a really well laid out, light and spacious place. Ample seating and a nice bar area adjacent to the dining room. Our room was on the 3rd floor, Whitby...

I'm sorry to see you were disappointed with aspects of your stay. Our refurbishment works went on for 5 weeks during which time every effort was made by myself and my team to ensure minimal disruption to our guests. Whilst a little disruption was inevitable we received a huge amount of praise from a large number of guests on how...

We paid £109 for one night in a twin room. Our hearts sank when we arrived and saw the shabby exterior of the hotel. However, pleasantly when we checked in as the reception area was very nice. Our room was very nice with the exception of the obvious damp patch around the window. What let the whole visit down was...

The Royal Hotel is going through a refurbishment and is looking great in all the ground floor areas lounges, dining area and bars. Our particular room was ok but the bed could have done with being replaced a couple of years ago. The staff are great! We would visit again! :-)

Overall very good. Our room was spacious and had recently been refurbished. The dining area has also been refurbished to a high standard. The food and service was very good. The menu choice is quite limited but it did change for the two nights we stayed. It is understandable that the menu as limited as I guess most people are on...
