We really enjoyed this weekend at the Black Horse, it's a lovely pub with friendly staff and a great bar; great gin selection! The room was warm and comfortable and it's great venue for people watching up and down Church Street. It's central and cosy. Love it.

Many thanks for your review. Glad you enjoyed your stay. We do have some bath sheets, but there was a high turn over of one night bookings, so I'm sorry you were unlucky enough to get a slightly smaller towel. See you again. Sue and the team

Booked the family room for one night. Good size, lovely bathroom, comfortable beds, great hospitality tray and extremely clean. Very friendly and helpful staff, we enjoyed last orders here too... Will definitely book here again.

Our annual visit to the Black Horse. Great welcome from the bar-staff. Excellent choice of beers, a mix of local craft-brewery ales, special ales (Hoegarten served with a choice of lime or lemon!). Inventive snacks using many local ingredients. And the locals talk to you! Even met the owner and her parents at the bar. What a pub!!!

A cracking little pub in the heart of Whitby selling everything from traditional Ales to Hoegaarden as well as being in the thick of The Gin craze which is everywhere. Lovely little touches such as tags attached to lots of the bottles with suggestions for alternative tipples [much appreciated]. My missus had Gin envy on the first night and had...

The pub is split into two wooden floored rooms, with a bars serving both... the main bar in the front room dates back to the 1880s and the pub itself dates from the 1660s... The pub is in...

So glad you enjoyed it. We try and have something for everyone, which is challenging when the place is so small!

The Black Horse was the friendliest pub we visited in Whitby. The beer is kept well and they serve a perfect pint. Everyone who works there is very friendly and welcoming. It is dog friendly and the perfect pub in every respect. I only wish we lived in Whitby!

A great pub with lots of atmosphere. We were a family of four adults, a toddler, baby, and two small dogs and were made very welcome in the bar area. It is a small and cosy pub and a great place to spend time on a cold December night.
