Wonderful stay at this little gem of place hidden away on the back streets of old Whitby. We stayed in room 3, with the brass bed, which was beautiful, clean, romantic and had some lovely touches like fresh coffee and dried infusions. Although quite small, it was cosy and had everything we needed so that didn't matter in the slightest....

Stayed in room 3 for one night. Wish we could have stayed longer. The room was beautiful, clean and romantic with a vintage feel. The room was quite small and the bed was very high but comfortable which added to the quirkiness. I loved it. Our room was ready early and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The Shepherd...

I booked this last minute and there wasn't many hotels available, I'm pretty happy things turned out this way as it was a stroke of luck. It's tucked away in a secret courtyard just off Church street, perfect location, close to the abbey. Rooms were clean and attractive, total value for your hard earned coin. Kim was incredibly helpful during...

Stayed just one night. Booked Room 2 and it more than lived up to my expectations. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Stepped out of the room into a lovely little haven. Service was wonderful, friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay again. Many thanks x

I stayed here for two nights and have to say it is honestly one of the best places I've ever stayed. Although it is accommodation only there are numerous places close by to have breakfast. On arrival my bag was carried to my room although it was only about 10 steps from the check in point., The owners were very...

Stayed over Easter with my Husband and Brother & Sister in Law. Both rooms (room 3 & 5) were very pretty and comfortable. Tucked away in a little court yard within 2 minutes walk of the lovely cobbled streets with plenty of Bars & Restaurant's. My only criticisms would be if you are a Woman that likes a dressing table...

Went for Whitby Goth weekend, wanted somewhere accessible so we could take a break during the day. Can't fault the location, middle of the cobbled street, convenient for just about everything. Well appointed room, clean and comfortable, all sorts of tea and coffee available in the room. Booked online, all information sent at time of booking, and again just before...

We booked a one night stay, quite last minute, for room 4 at the Shepherds purse. Booking was easy through the shepherds purse website, and just before arrival I received a helpful email detailing checking in info and places to park etc. This was both helpful and got us excited for our upcoming trip. On arrival, we were greeted by...
