This is a lovely hotel, very quaint and "ye olde English" about 5 miles from Whitby town centre. It's about 10 minutes in a taxi to the centre which cost about £8 going and £11 returning. The hotel itself has virtually no facilities, so for your money you are simply getting a bed and whatever board you book. The hotel...

The new owner has been in about two years. The place has been re-furbished and it is clean. This is worth a stay when the price is right. The hall looks a lot older than it was built, in 1900. There is a very nice lounge, then lounge bar. There are 2 dining rooms, one just done out in a...

Eight members of my family booked in for Sunday lunch at £24.95 per couple for a 3 course meal and what a fantastic time we had! Everything about our meal was first class - the atmosphere, restaurant, service and quality/presentation of the food. We all ordered different starters, mains and desserts and without exception we were all delighted with every...

Stayed for a weekend break and really enjoyed the tranquil setting. It is off the beaten track but still felt local to Whitby and the surrounding area. Room was lovely and comfortable. It was clean and we had a separate bathroom and toilet en-suite. Food was nicely prepared and staff friendly. The bar area was quiet. We thought we were...

We stayed for one night on the Spring Special DBB offer which was excellent value for money. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our room(No.18) which was amazing! It was very large with views in three directions. It had lovely period furniture, a large comfortable bed with quality linen, flat screen TV and comfortable armchairs. The bathroom was very...

Stayed at Dunsley Hall two weekends ago on a Saturday night. On arrival the building looked nice from the outside. Greeted by a friendly member of staff who promptly checked us in and showed us briefly round the hotel and to our room. The room was disappointing, looked tired and worn with the wallpaper ripped and paint splashed on the...

Saw the offer of a 3 course meal for two for £24.95 in the Yorkshire Post. Called to check whether the price was each or for two! ... it was for two. Booked a table for 4 early March and enjoyed lovely meal ... huge choice of starts and mains. Opted for the fresh mussels followed by Roast Beef and...

Spent one night at this delightful premises on a BBEM break. On our arrival we were greeted by a most friendly member of staff who immediately offered us a drink and then made our way to an interesting lounge where we were able to sit in ease and comfort. Our bedroom was in the annexe of the hotel. Our twin...
