On arrival, we were welcomed by one of our lovely hosts, Sharon, who sat us in the dining room before dashing off to make us a pot of tea, and we chatted for a little while before being shown to our room, Ammonite. The whole house is a beautiful Victorian restoration, and our room included a lovely original fireplace feature...

Stayed in Periwinkle, which was a beautifully decorated room and makes for a very relaxing stay. Paul & Sharon are wonderful hosts and they go out of their way to make the holiday as enjoyable as it can be. The breakfasts are absolutely superb with a wide selection and the afternoon cakes, prepared by Sharon, were delicious. The hotel is...

Had a lovely stay at this hotel. We have stayed in many of Whitby's 4/5* guest houses and this was one of the best. Paul and Sharon couldn't do enough to ensure we had a perfect short break and the fantastic breakfast complete with homemade bread, jam, marmalade and waffles more than set us up for a busy day. The...

Booked a weekend to celebrate our daughters special birthday, a very friendly welcome with tea and yummy home made cakes on arrival. Booked two rooms giving our daughter the most spacious but both rooms were individually furnished and were very warm & comfy and made special with the extra added touches Sharon and Paul provide. An outstanding hot breakfast and...

Over the years, we've stayed in many hotels and B&B's. With only a few exceptions, they've all been good but what makes one great is the attention to detail and the passion and love of the owners for what they do. This is where Abbotsleigh is unsurpassed. The building itself is beautiful; from the blacksmith designed gate, original glass and...

We visited Abbotsleigh at the end of October for 2 nights. Our room was the ammonite on the front of the building, it was a lovely spacious room, spotlessly clean with a wet room to die for. There are home made cakes available in the afternoon and homemade biscuits in the room. There is plenty to choose from for breakfast...

From the moment we arrived Paul and Sharon were fantastic hosts. Rooms are a good size, spotlessly clean and have everything you need. The beds are soooo comfy. The choice and quality...
