We stayed here for two days we took over the place as there were 19 of us, I can not fault it, the facilities, position everything I would highly recommend it. The only thing I have to say is as we were leaving the lady who runs it came down and complained that we had filled her recycling bin and...

Stayed here mid-week before walking the Cleveland Way along the coast. We had the complete hostel for only the two of us. The location is wonderful only 5 minutes walking from the Swing bridge directly at the harbour. All rooms are basic but very clean and tidy. The shared kitchen and living is great. The showers and toilets are a...

This was a fantastic find, especially since it was quiet and we had a room for 4 for just the two of us. Birgitta was lovely-very friendly and helpful. It was a short walk up from the town centre and right on the water front, we couldn't have had a better view.

I loved my stay. Quiet and beautiful view on the harbour. It was clean and vrry welcoming. Reasonable price as well. The shower could be better but after all it is a youth hostel and as long as it is clean it's fine ! I recommend it.

The hostel is located beautifully at the river and is the perfect place to stay if you look for a simple and CLEAN budget accommodation. this truly is a hidden gem in whitby as...

Stayed here October 2013. For context I am a regular hostel user, backpacker and camper. This is a little gem. Excellent location riverside on the east bank approx 5 mins walk from the swingbridge. Birgitta, the owner, is a genuinely lovely person whose heart and soul is in her hostel business. Her husband built the building! They live on the...

You can't get better than this. With welcoming owners, who accommodated us at the last-minute, storing our two wet bikes, who gave us a room with a view of the harbour that must be unmatched in Whitby. Big kitchen and lounge, tea and coffee, and warm - our stuff was dry in no time.

We use the Harbour Grange every year for fieldwork courses. About 10 years now and still counting. Ken and Briggita are always very welcoming and on hand if you need anything. The hostel is exactly right. A well equiped and newly refurbed kitchen - we have cooked for 20 plus. A very cosy living room and good clean bedrooms. Great...
