My family and I, spanning four generations, have been visiting Bagdale Hall for about seven years now. From the welcome we get from each and every one of the staff there, you'd think it was more like 70 years. Our party this year consisted of an 18-month-old with boundless energy and an array of complicated dietary requirements up to an...

We booked to go to Whitby regatta late and this was one of the only central hotels available left. We wouldn't normally consider at hotel in this rating bracket, but with little choice we booked it. The staff were super friendly and really helpful at all times during our stay. Very accommodating and even when we had an issue at...

Lets say why I did not give 5 out of 5, we were in the lodge on the ground floor and found the room acceptable but in need of updating, a bit 70/80s and rather small. We found it light all the time with the lights from the hospital shining all the time, black out curtains would help. The staff...

We have been staying at Bagdale Hall for several years now, and they never let us down. We have tried other hotels / B&B in Whitby, but always end up back at Bagdale Hall. On one memorable occasion we turned up on their doorstep at 10.45pm having found our pre-booked accommodation elsewhere totally unacceptable, and they still gave us the...

Just returned from a 2 night short break in Whitby. We have been going to Whitby for as long as we can remember and have often passed the Hall and promised ourselves that we would one day stay there. Which turned out to be a very good choice. The Hall is OLD and is perfectly appointed with period style furniture...

We have just returned from a four night stay at the Bagdale Hall Hotel and wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed it. It's a little different from most hotels at the exterior as it is in a building begun several hundred years ago and added to, revised, altered, neglected, spruced up and now made into a wonderful hotel....

Like many regular visitors to Whitby, we have passed Bagdale Hall on many occasions and promised ourselves that we would 'book-in' some time; the 16th Century building looks so appealing from the exterior. Was it an omen, then, that it was literally the only establishment where we could get last-minute accommodation on a sunny Whitby Monday in August? We opted...

Recent refurbishing and new management have breathed new life into this historic hotel. Centrally located a few yards from Whitby station, Bagdale Hall has lots of charm and character and we found it spotless and very comfortable. The food was excellent, and the staff warm and friendly....and free parking. We will return soon!

Sorry for the late review. We did not book just ended up here by chance. while debating if we should go for the lodge or the hotel the lady in reception told us to have a look at room 2 in the hotel to help us make up our minds and OMG this room was stunning we got 1 night...
