I did not feel I received value for money when I stayed here and I recommend that you read the other reviews carefully. There are many much better places available if you value somewhere that is restful and comfortable. This hotel is not that place. This hotel would appeal to people who want to have a few drinks, spend the...

Have been in here for drinks before, but this weekend decided Mum and I would have carvery lunch. Mistake was to use the downstairs door by the Baxtergate entrance which looks like the restaurant entrance because of the signage, menus etc Staff member saw us enter, said hello with a lovely cheery smile, cleared a recently vacated table for us,...

There are so many other places to eat, drink and stay in Whitby... choose one of them - not the George! Guinness, rubbish. Sharp's Atlantic... worse .. service... terrible. Rooms unpleasant. No disabled access for upper floor.. shared facilities.. Enough said.

Great location above a pub and very to the railway station and other amenities. Friendly staff. Inside the hotel seems a bit tired, but is probably on a par with other properties in the area and was clean. However the beds were very hard, the pillows very soft and no-one said anything about the band with drums that didn't start...

We only called in for drinks, I wish we had tried it earlier in our stay. Great staff, great well kept beer, very dog friendly. It's in a great location opposite the train and bus station and seems to have a good local following.

cheap and cheerful, The double room itself was on the small side but clean, but on further inspection the pillows were stained which looked like mould and the mattress was rock hard. Think we must of got the short straw room as no double glazing so could here all outside traffic, drunks, police vans, people shouting arguing and fighting till 3/4...

A great find. Opposite bus station, near taxi rank. Dog friendly. Helpful staff. Great location. Traditional pub. Wood floors, music drinks and food if you wish. Stairs to different levels so not disabled friendly.

Please don't complain that this is a room above a pub - you know this when you book it. If you don't want to be above a busy, loud, late pub, don't go!! Con parking here but only £7 for 24 hours a few minutes away at the marina. Nice pub with lovely features and sky tv in one room....
