Until recently I stayed here on a regular basis for business. Interior design very old fashioned, just like in most UK hotels. Breakfast was very good with a lot of choice. It is quite far from the city centre, which makes it a nicely quite hotel, except during the horse races period, when it is incredibly busy.

I stay at the York Marriott on a regular basis on business. Always comfortable, friendly staff. Excellent breakfast, usually eat out in the evening so cannot comment on the dinner menu. Close to York centre, where there are a multitude of bars and restaurants ro visit. Recommended

Stayed at the mariott for our first trip to York, the rooms were a bit dated but other than that clean, tidy and a refurbished bathroom. The centre is a 5 minute drive away which wasn't a problem for us and there is also plenty of parking at the hotel. Spa facilities are basic but clean and tidy however I...

From the moment we arrived at this hotel which is on the edge of the racecourse the reception staff were welcoming and helpful. when we got to the room it was to find a boxed chocolate from the staff for my birthday! A really nice touch. Hotel is ideally placed for people to use regular public transport into the city....

Friendly helpful staff Breakfast very good, lots of choice. We asked for a large quiet room and that's exactly what we got. We ate out in evening so can't comment on meals other than breakfast. Only down side no heated towel rail in bathroom so it was a bit chilly in the morning. Room number 309

This hotel is 5 mins drive outside York town and just by the race course. Some rooms overlook the race course. It has lovely gardens and outside seating which must be good in the summer. Large rooms, nice bar and grill type restaurant. Friendly staff. I used the business facilities there which were very good.

Stayed here on numerous occasions. We choose it because it has a carkpark. It's quite pricey. Hotel its self hasn't changed in years. The hotel I've found is clean and tidy as with the the staff I found them pleasant.

Bad review because: - The sheets were dirty when we arrived. - Mold on the shower ceiling. - Way too expensive for what you get. - Far from city centre, especially for this price. - No cleaning of the staircase, there was lettuce on the floor for 3 days. - Bad customer help. My advice: take another hotel.

Busy hotel with reasonable rooms and lots of facilities (Swimming pool, spa etc). Breakfast a bit average, lunch the same - nothing majorly wrong with it.. just lacks imagination. Guess I am staying in hotels too much! Not that close to the city centre, so a fair walk to the Minster. Stayed here 26 years ago and it hasn't changed...
