OK but small bedroom and tiny bathroom. Good size, comfortable beds. Close (i.e. easy walking distance) to city centre. Parking and breakfast charged as extras. Approach on Bootham road into town as turning right across the main road to squeeze through the narrow gate might be a problem when travelling away from town at busy times.

My husband and I only stayed for one night at the wonderful Churchill hotel, a present off our daughter, when my husband informed the lady on reception it was my birthday she kindly upgraded us to No.10 Downing Suite. The room was beautiful. The four poster bed was so comfortable. Walk in shower easy to use, great water pressure, yummy...

We have just returned from a Red Letter Day stay at The Churchill. We loved everything about our stay here. We arrived by train so didn't need the car park, but seemed ample. The receptionist was so friendly and helpful and nothing seemed too much trouble for her. We were shown to our room, which upon looking at other reviews,...

What a breath of fresh air The Churchill Hotel was. A lot of attention has obviously been given to the renovation/preservation of this boutique hotel. The architectural charm has been retained whilst updating facilities to a more sophisticated level. So much better than local B&B's marketing themselves as hotels, or the homogenized chain hotel that sits across the corner from...

...I was freezing in my room in September and couldn't make the heat work. Even after I complained, nothing was done till I requested a space heater, which was promptly produced. But it didn't warm up my room significantly. I think the temperature was in the low 60s F., which is a bit cool for sleeping. Even the water in...

I really can't decide if I liked this hotel or not. It's a beautiful building in a fantastic location, five minute walk to all that York has to offer. Also has ample car parking. There was a warm, friendly welcome and we were taken to our respective rooms. The room was VERY small as was the double bed. The carpet...
