We stayed for one night and the visit totally exceeded our expectations. Apart from good value for money; everything about the little gem was just perfect - out SatNav died on the way up so we followed the printed off instructions the website had provided which got us there perfectly. On arrival we got greeted by the nicest employee, Tom,...

The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful - they just couldn't do enough for us.. The hotel itself is a real gem, public spaces were comfortable and welcoming and the bedroom was really well appointed - and, more importantly, very quiet. Breakfast was delicious! Will definitely stay again...

This was a fabulous hotel. One of the best features is the staff. They are extremely welcoming, helpful, polite, and so nice! The room was clean and neat. The bed was very comfortable. The shower and bathroom were clean and spacious. The breakfast was a wonderful, filling start to each day with a nice variety of selections. The electric tea...

Tom was great on the desk as we checked in, had a horrible day of train cancellations to get to York and he made check in so easy and with a friendly face. Gave us a map of the city with the hotel located. Room was great with king bed, plenty of tea/coffee/biscuits. Bathroom was nice. Breakfast in the morning...

This is a fab independent hotel within the walls at York. The room was beautiful and clean, the breakfasts were very good, but the thing that really makes St Denys stand out is the staff who were friendly, helpful and informative. Fab find, would highly recommend.

We have had the most wonderful stay at the St Denys Hotel. Upon arriving we were greeted by an attentive member of staff who offered us a hot drink in the library after our train journey. We declined as we were heading straight out for something to eat but the was so helpful, providing us with maps and making sure...

Stayed at St Deny's for two nights recently and despite not being a B&B regular (I stay in large hotels generally) this is an absolute gem. From the moment we drove up to the front of the hotel to the goodbye, the team at the hotel could not do enough for us. From restaurant bookings, to express laundry service to...

We stayed 4 nights, and every afternoon when we came back, and every evening after our meal or concert, we were met with a smile, and an invitation to sit down on the sofa with a cup of tea. The breakfasts were excellent, as well.

Very comfortable and convenient hotel with a warm, but not obtrusive, welcome every time you go in. Excellent breakfast. Lovely cosy library sitting room with roaring fire. And little extra touches like a fridge with fresh milk and chilled water for guests use.
