My boyfriend and I had a 2 night stay here for my birthday after reading all the good reviews. I thought the room was pretty average, the shower was good but leaked all over the floor. Everyone had raved how good the breakfast was, but...More

Enjoyable 2 night stay. Email in advance to get top room, it's the quietest. Room comfortable and we'll equipped. Staff helpful and friendly. Good breakfasts.
Handy for all the city centre sites and York Minster

We stayed for 1 night and the lady behind the bar told us to go to Wackers a fish and chip shop around the corner. You tell them you're staying at Bootham Tavern and they charged us £10 for 24hours on their car park. Best thing to do is speak to the bar staff on arrival. We had a lovely stay, very comfy and excellent location.
