Visited recently after a ghost walk, in which the pub features, just for drinks. There was music on- a great little duo playing the fiddle and guitar- who entertained everyone. Nice atmosphere and we loved Saul, sat at the bar.

Come to York every December usually just before Christmas with my Sons. This year I returned in January for a Birthday weekend with my partner. Over the years it's become a tradition to visit the Golden Fleece for a meal, partly to soak in the atmosphere and history of the place. Over the years this beautiful and historic pub has...

Stayed at York over Easter weekend - our apmnt was just outside the city walls but ended up in the Fleece every day for drinks / dinner / breakfast over the weekend. Highly recommended - a fantastic traditional pub - says oldest and most haunted in the city. Staff really friendly and work hard. Great traditional menu - huge portions...

Visited with our daughters and friend from Australia. We had eaten here before a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it. The girl behind the bar was very pleasant and our food arrived promptly. Our friend had ordered giant Yorkshire pud which was black and burnt when it arrived and really shouldn't have been sent out. It went back...

Needing gluten free food, staff were aware of their ability to provide this, although their menu is still showing a GF burger but they say they no longer do it.... take it off the menu. I had the gammon and you certainly get great value for money, my daughter couldn't finish hers she had so much so I had that...

Most places take card. I went to the bar to order drinks. The two bar staff didn't feel they wanted to acknowledge my presence until they had finished their chat with each other. I asked if they took card, and he replied that the card machine was at the other bar, he then told me to go with the other...

We dropped in after a roam around the city at night and decided to take a look in. We were delighted with how antiquated the front bar was complete with an apparently 'executed woman's skull' in a box. We took our seat near the front bar and enjoyed a very enjoyable tipple (Double JD for us is our weapon of...

Went to this pub for a drink, whilst on holiday, could not get a drink without being forced to order food, really disappointed and rather infuriated by staff who were rude and lacked the ability to think for themselves, plenty of other pubs available all were excellent.

This is the worse place I've ever eaten. Food absolutely disgusting. This place needs a new chief and bar staff also need training on how to serve food. DO NOT EAT HERE I tried to order a few different things off the menu to be told sold out. So I ordered lasagna, chips and salad. The lasagna was like mush,...
