Few days break in York by train. Easy 10 minute walk to hotel which is situated in a quiet street 15 minutes from the centre - so an ideal spot, nice and quiet. Hotel nice and clean, room quite spacious. Great bed, very comfy. Shower fine. Breakfast thrown in with the price (I like that) good selection of fruit, yoghurts, rolls and hot ( only criticism is that you can spot budget hotel scrambled eggs a mile off - tasteless; but sausage and bacon were decent.) We were warned that Sunday morning breakfast could be chaotic and they weren’t wrong - but there was a plentiful supply and we were happy to perch in reception. Bar prices were a bit steep, but that is to be expected I suppose. Overall a very pleasant two nights at a fair price and would certainly stay again.

Great hotel with super friendly staff. Everything you could want on the breakfast buffet. Well appointed room with air con. We had a twin room and the beds were much larger than standard singles. Great lication for city centre. Be aware the parking is at the nearby NCP CA RR park, it is adoscounted rate (£12.50) a day not free

Great central location with a lovely complimentary breakfast. Lovely staff and good value for money. It’s a shame there is no parking at the hotel but at least there is a multi storey close by at a not too expensive cost.

Upon entering I was greeted by a manager who I believe was called Sol, he was very attentive and smelled like malt loaf which reminded me of grandmas house. After this pleasant arrival I was then bequeathed by horror after horror! Firstly someone had laid extriment all over the toilet and left, what I can only describe as, trenches of faeces around the toilet bowl. As if this wasn’t enough, I then entered the female toilets in the downstairs bar and a noise which I can only describe as an equilibrium between terror and euphoria emerged from the stall. I then also noticed a squelching sound, and at the moment the penny dropped. Someone was fingering themselves. After this VILE endeavour I decided to leave the hotel and vowed never to return. As such a reputable hospitality company I wouldn’t expect these ordeals to happens to customers and as such I end this message with nothing but contempt Other than this, I had a lovely trip Yours sincerely Megan Anne B

I booked through booking.com as my son had an interview at the University. It was cancelled due to COVID. They would not refund the booking, however after complaining they said they would hold my payment for three months in case it gets rescheduled. It did and I've just tried to rebook - because I didn't reply to their last message (they didn't state that I needed to) then they said the offer no longer stands. I have since phoned Hampton Hiltons customer service line and they were also unhelpful and quite frankly rude.
