Stayed four nights at the Hazelwood and loved it. Quiet, easy 5-minute walk to the city gates, great rooms, wifi, clean, terrific breakfast, small and cozy, well tended with terrific staff. Booking and check in, check out were super easy. Nice back patio with lots of flowers. Safe residential street. Lounge in basement provides Tv, wine, coffee, tea, small library....

Actually it's more B&B than hotel BUT I simply could not find fault with this delightful place. From the moment of arrival we were made to feel very welcome, with friendly staff on reception and throughout the hotel from cleaners to waitresses. We were allowed to occupy our room early as it was ready and the room itself was lovely...

This place was excellent and exactly what we needed. We booked a large superior room and it was really nice. Very large, spotless clean and very cosy. Gorgeous room decor and features, very regal looking. Its situated on a very narrow street a short walk away from the minster, kind of on the edge of the main bustle of York's...

The Hazelwood is only 5-10 mins walk from York Minster, York Theatre Royal and then into the centre of town. Our room was on the ground floor, you have to walk through the breakfast room to reach it, and the walls are a little thin so can hear people outside. The room was adequate, beds were fine and temperature of...

3 storey house in a residential area just outside the city walls. No lift so expect to lug your luggage up the narrow stairs. The standard room is tiny, with a probably 20 inch monitor mounted on the wall as tv. Nice bath tub in the attached toilet however the water pressure is very small. Wifi is so weak that...

The first thing to mention about this place is the helpful, welcoming staff. The next thing is the the beautifully decorated and large comfortable rooms. The Hazelwood is walking distance to all the places you would want to visit in York. And it is even walking distance from the Train Station for anyone that can deal with a moderate walk....

Beautifully decorated, comfortable beds and linen. Spotless bathroom with excellent towels and toiletries. We did not have the full english breakfast but the scrambled egg and smoked salmon was lovely. Car parking very welcome but narrow access with tight bend, maybe not suitable for large vehicles. Courtyard seating area.

Having just got back today from an overnight stay at the Hazelwood I can assure you this is now the only hotel I will be staying at when visiting York in the future. From the first minute of arrival to the last minute of departure we were welcomed and looked after by all members of staff. We stayed in room...

Not the easiest place to find, but an interesting place. There is parking at the back but if your car is a big one, take care - you have to negotiate a couple of very tight bends !! Our room was at the top which meant a climb of two flights of stairs - not welcome after a long journey....

I had a 3 night stay at The Hazlewood from 9-12 March. From check in to check out, this was a fantastic place to stay. It's very centrally located being only a few minutes walk from the Minster. My room was absolutely spotless and really comfortable. Tea, coffee and biscuits were a nice touch. The bathroom was fully stocked with...
