Ian and Anne really know every aspect of running a B&B business. They make your stay as easy and enjoyable as it could be. They know how different people's demands can be and are genuinely respectful and helpful. They keep their guesthouse in top notch condition and provide superb breakfasts. It is simply but effectively designed and the pricing is...

Thanks for that and please remember clicking on the Bookings.com calendar will always show no prices availability even when I have rooms available. This is because I have refused to pay TripAdvisor £159 per bedroom per year AND 22% of the gross value of any booking through them. In effect I am being blackmailed. They also refuse to remove false...

My sister and I have just returned from an very enjoyable weekend in York, where we stayed at Bootham Gardens Guest House for the 5th time. Now we think that says it all or else we would not keep going back. This place is immaculate and the breakfast is to die for. York was very busy on the Saturday but...

Everything the owners say on their website is true. This is very clean and comfortable accommodation, with attention to detail, yet simplicity. I'm very fussy about my bed and although it was indeed spacious and comfortable, high thread-count pure cotton linen would have been an improvement on the polycotton. Also, the towels, whilst soft and thick enough, were rather small...

A very nice friendly guesthouse. Lovely food. Plenty of choice for breakfast !! Close to the centre, only a 10 min walk at the most. A very relaxed atmosphere. Would like to have stayed longer !! Tried the pubs which they recommended for food and they were excellent ! York is full of extremely great places to visit !

Accommodation, breakfast and location are all fine for short stay in York. BUT be aware. We were privately celebrating our wedding anniversary and had some cards up in our bedroom. On our last morning we came down to breakfast to find that the date of our anniversary and the length of our marriage was displayed on specially printed breakfast menus...

I will certainly be back to this lovely guesthouse, because one night was not enough! Comfortable beds, heavenly breakfasts ( incredible choice!), helpful and friendly owners. I even came away with a grape jam recipe. Well located, close to the city centre with everything in walking distance.
