We have just returned from a 2 night stay at this lovely hotel. We had a warm welcome from the staff as soon as we entered. Following a swift check-in, we were shown to our room which was spacious with a lovely big canopied bed. Old rustic furniture complimented the soft furnishings and the bathroom was large and well equipped.... More

I went to a wedding next door, had a great stop over...location amazing, staff very friendly and breakfast great.....went for a walk around the town the next morning and it was one of the quaintest places I have been to in this country.

We stay quite often each year with this group of hotels and they never disappoint. Slightly pricey, but the rooms themselves have the best bedding, luxury toiletries and a great coffe/tea tray. We usually stay during the colder months as they have amazing log fires throughout. On this occasion we were staying with a large party for a family celebration... More

Thank you for such a lovely review. I hope that you will visit again… we have at least another six months of fires left! Your comments on the staff and service are particularly welcome. Thank you again, Bill Ramsay More

This was my first visit and I certainly will not be returning! Upon arrival I ordered drinks for my partner and myself which we received. However, having paid for these in cash I had to ask for my change. The two members of staff looked put out by this request and looked at me whilst talking in their native tongue... More

I feel disappointed to have this review. This your opinion and you are entitled to share this however I am still bemused as to why your experience in the restaurant is the polar opposite of everyone else on this evening. I had a very heavy presence on this particular evening and spoke with every single set of guests in the... More

We stayed here in mid-May 2016 and loved it. The inn is beautiful with the outside covered in a huge wisteria that must be many decades if not 100+ years old. The stone used in construction is the ubiquitous, warm stone of the region. It is located on a block or so from the main street on quiet Sheep Street.... More

I am very pleased to hear of your enjoyment with us. We are very proud of the service that we provide and food we offer, particularly in the restaurant as you have noted. Thank you for this review. It is a pleasure to read of your appreciation, especially when it is sandwiched between two disgruntled reviews from a single table... More

Instead of visiting one of the many High Street pubs in Burford, take a stroll to the end of Sheep St. The Lamb Inn has a great range of cask ales on tap, a fine menu ( the partridge is excellent! ) low ceilings and log fires. A hidden gem with a great atmosphere, away from the bustle of the... More

Our crown of Partridge has been a huge success on our specials board since its introduction and I am pleased that it has been mentioned on TripAdvisor! I hope to see you again for another cosy escape from the High Street hustle and bustle! Kind regards, Bill Ramsay More

My friends and I have been coming to the lamb in Burford for the last few years and for the first time we were really disappointed. This lovely location and restaurant has gone downhill. The staff were not friendly with the exception of the waitress the rest of the staff were miserable unhelpful and rude. The food took ages to... More

This had been booked for me and my partner. The staff were so professional and friendly, and made us feel very welcome. The pub/hotel is in beautiful Burford, and is old and so full of character. We were in the Shepherd room - four poster bed, Nespresso machine, so cosy. The food is utterly superb, both dinner and breakfast, with... More

First the positive things: The restaurant is lovely, the staff are friendly and efficient and the food is superb. The hotel is charming, comfortably furnished and a lovely place to stay. Now, the not quite so positive things. The rooms are quite noisy. Soundproofing between rooms isn't very good so neighbours conversations can be heard - although the sound and... More

Thank you for your returns to the Lamb and feedback. I am glad that the negatives from your stay have been overshadowed by the positives. Noise, as described, is not a common complaint at all. I think that this has been witnessed with a good level of poor fortune, maybe noisier neighbours? You are 100% correct in that a full... More
